Darlene Wink pleaded guilty Tuesday to two misdemeanor charges of fundraising in the courthouse for then Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker's campaign for governor.

Wink, 61, worked as Walker's constituent services coordinator in the county executive's office at the time. She was charged with working on fundraising events for Walker's gubernatorial campaign in 2009 and 2010 while supposedly working her taxpayer-funded county job.

The plea deal Wink worked out with prosecutors has her serving no jail time, as long as she cooperates with the DA's investigation, which is still ongoing. To be honest, I am surprised that the prosecutor was able to flip her.

At this time, there are still 14 cases open against 5 more defendents, and these are felonies. And more indictments are expected to be handed down by the grand jury that is conducting what has become known as the John Doe Investigation.

Usually people get plea deals like this when the prosecutors are going after bigger fish. They must be on to something.
