I know they do that in relation to SSI and I believe TANF.
I haven't seen the same for State food stamps yet, could be true with SNAP though.

Well, most of them are black, right?

But seriously, think of it in economic terms instead of socio-cultural. The parallels are obvious enough. You claim that the "other" (those being poor welfare people, college guy) are too busy and too well financially managed to go to strips clubs or drink. That's ridiculous.

Fine, you're crazy. But I think the above post is really just privledged ignorance. You doubt they have the time to go to liquor stores?? Don't you remember the welfare-cards after Katrina?

To most of you that doesn't sound like a big deal, but crawfish is a delicacy and it's not cheap--15 LBS.s runs about 40 bucks and that sounds like a lot, but it's not.

Anyway...while I was waiting, a dude came in and bought 60 pounds of live crawfish--uncooked--and I-be-damned if he didn't whip out a welfare card to pay for it. I was so damn mad I could have knocked the rest of his teeth out of his mouth.

are you leaving part of the story out?
I have absolutely no clue how something like that could make you made.
I gut bought FOOD with a welfare card? oh the rage LMAO

did he buy anything else? maybe he spent his whole card on crawfish? Im just saying the snip-it of story you told me would never inspire anger in me especially to want to assault him????

    So weird.

And as to the OP I like the law. Assistance money should be limited to certain items for sure.

I think the point was that the guy bought luxury. He could have bought food for a family for a week. It's a poor decision. Then again, perhaps he was cooking and selling it at a profit.

I understand how there could be "A" concern but you hit the nail right on the head, unless theres more to the story we have no clue what really happened and IMO its certainly nothing at all to be mad and violent about thats just numb.

I absolutely hate this mentality that if someone is on foodstamps/welfare then they shouldn't be allowed ANYTHING but the most basics of basics.
I'm more applaud you think other people should pay for the crawfish. If he wants em, EARN THEM.
Climate, changes. It takes a particularly uneducated population to buy into the idea that it's their fault climate is changing and further political solutions can fix it.

I would like this if it weren't for the fact that you misspelled one word and changed the whole meaning of the sentence.

And I'm more apalled that you think that poor people are not good enough to get crawfish just because its more expensive than bread and water. At least that is what you imply.
