Ranger zaps off-leash dog walker with shock weapon

It seems that now days your average cop is just a money collector. QUOTAS QUOTAS QUOTAS.

I've had cops let me off with just a warning. So maybe im not being fair. But it really does feel like cops are money collectors more than civil protection.

In the "good olde days" there wouldn't have been a public park like that. It would have been private property and letting your dogs loose on my property would likely have lead to me coming out with a gun to ensure that both you and the dogs got off my property and stayed off it, one way or another. It's STILL legal to shoot dogs that bother livestock in most states.

Let's stop defending the Nazi Park bitch.

My first instinct is to not believe the story. I just have a hard time believing someone who doesn't have the intelligence to remain there while the ranger checks their name. I mean it just seems...fishy. Not to mention the range was a woman, and so it makes me wonder if there was anything else stated or done during this or by the idiot who did not comply (because let's face it you are a total moron if you do not comply).

As far as dogs go:

It is legal to shoot a dog in a defensive situation, and certainly if it is causing problems on your land. LEOs also have a right to protect themselves. Remember you are liable for your dog's action.

Let's stop defending the Nazi Park bitch.

Do we know she is? I didn't catch her statement. I certainly know that I do not want to trust someone who total disregards what a LEO says. I mean sure she is out of line if all that happened is what the idiot said, but if there is more to this story I want to know.

Of course there would. Parks aren't some new invention.

Why? So far as I'm concerned she showed great RESTRAINT in not shooting the SOB.

Public Parks actually ARE something of a new invention. Especially these large Park Service type of spaces. Even public parks were not terribly common in the colonial days. The town common was generally available for grazing animals but beyond that, there were not the type of public recreation areas we see today until the 20th Century.

Wrong again. Parks have been around for centuries. The Boston Common was set aside as a park in the early 1600s. Fredrick Olmstead designed hundreds of parks throughout the U.S. in the 1800s, including one here in Louisville.

Gill, I lived not 200 feet from the oldest PUBLIC park in the United States (Elm Park in Worcester, MA) for three years. I also know that PUBLIC PARKS were not a COMMON idea until the latter part of the 1800's (largely after the Civil War); by which time the US was no longer in the "Good Olde Days" as I see them.

Sure she did, maybe she should have shot him with a gun over a dog leash policy. I wish that dog had taken a **** on her shoe.

No. Over his unwillingness to comply with the orders of a badged law enforcement officer.

National Parks on large level was started by TR if I am not mistaken, with Yellowstone.

She had his name. The dogs ended up leashed. All she had to do was follow him to his car and get the license plate n BOOM ticket confirmed. Instead he ended up on the ground (no longer walking away) saying, "Please dont taze me. I have a bad heart." when she lit him up. (according to an eye witness).

Id say a person groveling on their back and begging verbaly = compliance and she tazed him anyways. Unless the guy was comming at her getting ready to attack and the witness is phony included in some consipiracy.... She tazed him because she was angry and didnt like his attitude. Thats not what tazers are for. I hope this guy becomes a few hundred dollars richer because of this.

Here's a couple for you. It's so common I'm not going to bother with any more. Any one with an ounce of research skill could find many more.

Here's one that happened locally a couple months ago:

So with millions of LEO's, you can't even come up with more examples than I could count on one hand

You only proved my point that the prosecution of cops who fire on fleeing suspects is rare

(Note: Your such a fail at this debate that you don't even realize that at least one of those examples have nothing to do with a suspect who is fleeing) :lamo

Yes.... Cops not being ticket fascists = you promote slavery.... Get the **** outa here.

Hey, if you're going to be absurd and call her a "fascist" (because I'm sure she runs a concentration camp to kill Jews), I'll compare the absurd remarks to slavery

Yes... Cops being nice = slavery. I got your absurd point. Glad you promote cops getting all NAZI with their ticket quotas. If she would have just warned him and let him go after he leashed his dogs then black people would need to be put in chains........ Got it.

PAPERS!!! PAPERS!!! *blows whistle furiously*

Still here (and so are your ridiculous nazi comparisons)

Right.. Because comparing authoritarianism actions with a previous authoritarian state = stupid because technology evolves over time and NAZIs didnt have tazers. Gotcha.
