Adpst, I get that not everyone has an affinity for animals like I do, and that's fine. Beyond just concern for the cat though, this represents a threat to the family, the implicit message being "you could be next". Also, even if the cat means nothing to you, the guy has a family with kids. What if one of his kids had found the dead cat? This wasn't just cruel to the cat, it was cruel to the people involved as well. It should be condemned by everyone.
