Iran 'definitely' closing Strait of Hormuz over EU oil embargo

Article can be found here (https://rt.com/news/iran-close-strai...z-embargo-455/)

Tensions in the Gulf could reach a breaking point as a senior Iranian official said Iran would “definitely” close the Strait of Hormuz if an EU oil embargo disrupted the export of crude oil, the semi-official Fars news agency reports.

    Things just got hella real.

I have to wonder what the US will do now to prevent the Strait's closing, It should be noted that closing the Strait would also severely damage Iran's already bad economy, thus I wonder how long they will be able to hold out if they can in fact successfully block the Strait.

From the looks of it, they only have the capability to close down the Strait for about 4 days. That was dependent on how many mines they use. They can effectively disrupt the Strait for years, and that would be horrific on the world economy. China is heavily invested in seeing them not do this. I just hope our country can find its way into not shooting 200 cruise missles and flying 400 sorties over Iran and call it a UN mission.

rt.com is Russian media and not always reliable. They tend to slant things to Moscow's benefit. This is how they self-describe at Google (asterisks mine)...

Iran has been going to do many things they don't so indeed this article doesn't mean anything is going to happen but the entire thing is foolish.

I couldn't help but notice the comments - obviously teens who need to head to school to void truancy court . . . but still nets a mockery:

There will be no peace until some kick the USA in the a** !!! It is time for that kick !!!!

There will be no peace nor prosperity in this universe until someone kicks the God of gods down Jacob's ladder and puts an end to his malevolent divine rule !!!!
    Bring it then.

    Bring it on.

I've been wondering my whole life why no one tries to **** with us - so **** with us. I'd like to see someone put their money where their mouth is and see how we do when exercising our 2nd rights. I bet you we'd manage to put all our issues and differences aside just to slaughter some. Hell - I would. . . bring it to my door and see what'll happen, if you can make it that far into my town without someone closelining your head off in the woods first.

We're so evil and horrible - so do something.

The reason - however - why no one's going to kick our ass is because we've managed to climb to the top and it'll take quite a bit for anyone to try to think they can make the effort and win. And, also, we're just not that bad and evil - we do a lot of good, maintain a lot of balance in the world and thus many still approve of us and support us.

It has happened before, but there is nothing to compare it to now.

I am aware of this. However, I do believe on matters as important as Iran closing the Strait, I seriously doubt that this would be a fabricated story.

If they are stupid enough to close it, it won't be closed for long.

Since Russia helped to build Iran's nuclear reactor at Busheir, I'd rather see some independent confirmation.
