Wait wait... an EX-wife doesn't have positive things to say about her EX-husband? Stop the presses!!!!
HE married HER, it's not like they got married because a judge ordered them to do so, so I hardly feel your sympathy.
So you believe her?

Given Newts record on "family" values, yes.
"He believes that what he says in public and how he lives don't have to be connected," Marianne Gingrich told Esquire. "If you believe that, then yeah, you can run for president."
Gingrich's second wife ruffles campaign with ABC interview
Has he displayed the same type of behavior since being married to his current wife? Look, he says that he has asked forgiveness from his family, and from God. We are a forgiving country, he has not dodged who he was. The only reason I can see to dredge this up, and continue to use it against him is purely political, and dirty.

Ok, so what? At best you have an old story, of an individual promoted by his scorned ex, for monetary gain...Why should I believe anything she has to say?

We know that he cheated on her. And cheated on the next wife. That he doesn't dispute (because he can't hide it). So she gets the benefit of the doubt.
How many times have we seen people do something stupid, beg for forgiveness, drop off the map (either rehab, seclusion, whatever), come back and say they are a different person only to do the same damn thing over again?
Could Newt have changed? Absolutely, I would hope he really has for his family's sake. Would I want to take that chance with him as president? Hell, no.
As I said either in this thread or another, I detest the "do as I say, not as I do" mentality of politicians. And him criticizing Clinton while he himself was having an affair was and is still pathetic. If I were to lay his politics aside (cause I wouldn't vote for him anyway because of just that), what it all comes down to is I simply do not trust the man.
I wouldn't expect you to believe it. Those that recognize hypocrisy believe it though, as do women, which is why Gingrich polls so low with women.
What problems can you see occurring with Newt as President given this 12 year old story? Anything that has to do with a real issue?
Don't get me wrong, I have already stated that I am not a Gingrich supporter. But, this crap is just that. Speaking of Clinton, the argument back then was that Clinton's private life had no bearing on what he did as President, so why different standard for Gingrich?

given THIS 12 year old story, nothing. I never said it did.
I maintain that a person's PRIVATE life has no bearing on the presidency. I said I don't like the "do as I say, not as I do" mentality. I could very well see Newt saying someone shouldn't do something while he himself does it. Like I said, the affiars mean nothing to me personally. The fact he criticized Clinton for his while having one himself DOES mean something to me. His actions towards Clinton is NOT his private life there.

When did this happen? 10 years ago?
The DNC has to do better to dig up some recent dirt here guys.
Well, that is politics...given the chance, I have no doubt that republicans, do nasty little political things to jab, and smear their liberal opponents, and liberals do nasty little political things to jab, and smear their republican opponents. Meh, so what?
There is low, to no likely hood that you would vote for ANY republican candidate anyway, so why should it matter what you think of Gingrich? Chances are moderately low that he will win nomination anyway.

I think you read waaaaaay to much into things. Where in any of my comments did I say what I think of Gingrich matters? :lamo
I'm just pointing out facts that Gingrich was hypocritical to criticize Clinton while doing the same thing and that I don't trust the guy.
Democrats might just flock to Newt. They love presidents who have open marriages.
Are you saying he didn't marry her? He hasn't cheated on his wives? So you believe her?

Well there you have it then. Nice to see priorities are in play on the right.
