If it is fair to test welfare recipients, then it is only fair that those who made that law be subject to the same law.

    Article is here.

And being arrested for DUI has what exactly to do with drug use? What drugs do you suspect Smith of doing due to the DUI?

You seem to miss the hypocrisy aspect of it. Of course members of both parties **** up all the time, but it's only hypocrisy when you preach about something and then get busted doing the very thing (or in this case a similar thing) you were preaching about. That's the Republican's calling card: the anti-gay crusader literally caught with his pants down (wide stance) ... or hounding the President over an affair, while he's cheating on his own wife....

So, it seems to me that if substance abuse disqualifies one from government aid, it should also disqualify one from government service. I'm sure the Kipper will be resigning shortly.
So you would advocate hKip Smith's idea then that everyone who breaks the law stops receiving government money, whether its politicians, government employees, or welfare recipients. Is that correct?

Ok, do you have some specific evidence of Kip Smith "railing" about DUI?

I don't know anything specifically about this guys views but there is an assumptiont that all Republicans are religious right zealots which is not true. And I would imagine all politicians have at one time or another preached against drinking and driving so that would make just about any politician and most people hypocites if they got a DUI.

Really? Is that what happened? He believes welfare recipients should be drug tested. He got popped on a dui for drinking while driving. He is neither a welfare recipient, nor unemployed...and last I checked...alcohol isnt illegal. No one is excusing his DUI...its just idiotic of you and others to use his very real mistake to claim he is a hypocrite about his stand on drug testing.

Face it...you idiots TROLL through the muck looking for anything you can...even the most obscure items for you to jump on. This guy is a state representative...in Georgia. You live...where? In California? To you, his 'crime' is irrelevant...all that matters is he is a republican. Oh...and that he believes welfare recipients shouldnt actually have some form of responsibility...well...he dares attack your sacred cows...shame!!!
