It seems implied in the title of the thread.
implied? not to anyone objective it doesnt. LOL
It seems implied in the title of the thread.
That's just plain stupid. Grow up.
It's not stupid. It's patently true. But how do you argue with sexually mutated people? They don't even know they're wired wrong.
You can't re-wire sexual deviance. You can't un-Sandusky someone. And you can't un-gay someone. It's just the way it is.
It implies it is a grave threat though. The ending humanity was just my slightly colourful way of phrasing that. It certainly doesn't imply that gay marriage is just one more nail in the coffin or anything like that.The title just says that the Pope thinks SSM is a threat to humanity's future. It says nothing about SSM ending humanity on its own.
I heard somewhere that it is the more traditional parishes of the Roman Catholic Church which are the more popular in the West.If this is the Church's plan to keep religion relevant in the West, they couldn't have picked a worse strategy. Seriously, Jon Huntsman could run a more successful campaign.
It is my understanding that the Church is worried about its floundering numbers in the West. Yet their response seems to be to highlight the very reasons their numbers here are dwindling.I heard somewhere that it is the more traditional parishes of the Roman Catholic Church which are the more popular in the West.
It is not the Church's responsibility to be relevant to sin and foolishness.
You only have to look at the liberal Protestant Churches to see that overly bowing to modern sensibilities doesn't help you keep your numbers up. Indeed they seem to be some of the most dwindling denominations.It is my understanding that the Church is worried about its floundering numbers in the West. The title says, "gay marriage a threat to humanity's future". You added the "grave", you added the "ending humanity". If you have a problem with the phrasing, take it up with the Pope.It implies it is a grave threat though. The ending humanity was just my slightly colourful way of phrasing that. Your point is completely inaccurate. Church attendance is in decline right across western Europe and falling fast in Catholic countries such as Belgium, Ireland and Spain.You only have to look at the liberal Protestant Churches to see that overly bowing to modern sensibilities doesn't help you keep your numbers up. DECLINE BY COUNTRY
A 2000 study by the Swedish-based World Values Survey shows nearly half — or more — don't regularly attend church in several Western European countries. percentage of people who "never" or "practically never" attend church in 14 democracies:

The Pope is a threat to humanity's future.

Now this isn't up-to-date data, but unless you have more recent findings showing a surge in RC church attendance, I'm going to surmise that whether a church is liberal, traditional or fundamentalist is irrelevant, they're all losing ground, as much in trad Catholic countries as in liberal Protestant ones. Look at Denmark btw.
Homophobia= slightly sinister, pseudo-Freudian word.Or at least the future of the Roman Catholic church.
Homophobia = hate. Very un-Christain.
Homophobia= slightly sinister, pseudo-Freudian word.
A Christian may and should hate sin.
There is nothing wrong with accepting homosexuality as a sin. It's also immature to sling around words like "homophobic" and "bigot."
Accepting it as a sin in our modern world would be ignorant.
We know that sexual orientation is a hard-wired personality trait, therefore hating people for the way they are born is bigoted. The proper term for anti-gay bigotry is homophobia.
In the adult world, anyway...
You say this out of an intimate knowledge of Christian theology and thought on the matter?Accepting it as a sin in our modern world would be ignorant.
We do not know that firstly. Secondly many conditions which are considered problems or defects are not simply the choice of those suffering them. Thirdly the issue is not hating homosexuality and certainly not for simply being attracted to those of the same sex but thinking that indulging in homosexual behaviour is a sin.We know that sexual orientation is a hard-wired personality trait, therefore hating people for the way they are born is bigoted. The proper term for anti-gay bigotry is homophobia.

To me it is clearly the implication of the title of this thread that gay marriage is not another nail in the coffin or anything like that, but in itself a grave threat to humanity.The title says, "gay marriage a threat to humanity's future". You added the "grave", you added the "ending humanity". If you have a problem with the phrasing, take it up with the Pope.
Because that's what Christ said??
LMFAO!!
