Now this isn't up-to-date data, but unless you have more recent findings showing a surge in RC church attendance, I'm going to surmise that whether a church is liberal, traditional or fundamentalist is irrelevant, they're all losing ground, as much in trad Catholic countries as in liberal Protestant ones. Look at Denmark btw.
Those statistics are utterly irrelevant to my point. My point was that liberal Protestants denominations, particularly in US and the UK, are hemorrhaging members peculiarly fast and also that the traditional parishes are some of the most popular in the Catholic Church. In no sense do those statistics have much bearing on this. There are any number of reasons why Church attendance, which is distinct from religious feeling, is different across those nations, such as anti-Catholic historical and government action for example.

I heard the ABC Australia, religious editor, who is unlikely to be a traditionalist Catholic, state that the point about traditional Catholic parishes.

There is nothing wrong with accepting homosexuality as a sin. It's also immature to sling around words like "homophobic" and "bigot."

Accepting it as a sin in our modern world would be ignorant.

We know that sexual orientation is a hard-wired personality trait, therefore hating people for the way they are born is bigoted. The proper term for anti-gay bigotry is homophobia.

    In the adult world, anyway...

You say this out of an intimate knowledge of Christian theology and thought on the matter?

We know that sexual orientation is a hard-wired personality trait, therefore hating people for the way they are born is bigoted. The proper term for anti-gay bigotry is homophobia.

We do not know that firstly. Secondly many conditions which are considered problems or defects are not simply the choice of those suffering them. Thirdly the issue is not hating homosexuality and certainly not for simply being attracted to those of the same sex but thinking that indulging in homosexual behaviour is a sin.

Homophobia is not a proper term for anything. It is a pseudo-psychoanalytic term sinisterly aimed at silencing one's opponent through diagnosing them.

If someone is a Christian and decides to believe that homosexuality is not a sin is willfully ignorance and has fallen into deception in my opinion.

Stop thinking everyone who views homosexuality as a sin literally hates homosexuals. Most would view premarital sex, theft, drunkenness, and other sins to be sinful according to the Bible without hating those who commit them. It's illogical and ignorant to hold such a bigoted view against a group of people based off of their moral convictions.

    In an adult word, anyway....

To me it is clearly the implication of the title of this thread that gay marriage is not another nail in the coffin or anything like that, but in itself a grave threat to humanity.
