My guess is that Emanuel was a bluff (by Obama)... once Emanuel realized that, he probably didn't like it.

When Obama hired him I was overjoyed and thought it was the absolute right man for the job. It sent a signal to the right that he had a pit bull in charge and he was not going to take any crap from anybody. And then Emanuel was not allowed to be himself and do his job.

    I want to know why.
Politico ran a story on it. Basically they say that Daley had been out of national politics too long and was a bit out of touch, and he didn't get along very well with Obama's inner circle. They were edging him out and he didn't want to put up with it.

    1. Compromising is not easy. Republicans have been pushing against Obama's compromises since day one so Rahm's pushy personality in dealing with that nonsense. It was also probably supposed to be good for dealing with Democrats and members of the administration who disagreed with Obama.

    2. Obama took the Illinois/Chicago political machine with him to DC probably to return some favors. Rahm's job was probably, in part, one of those favors.

Not hardly...For there to actually BE a compromise, you have to have BOTH sides meeting in the middle, or at least close to it. The administration clearly sees compromise as, do it our way, or we'll trash you.

You're right. There hasn't been any compromise since there was a public option on the healthcare bill and Obama didn't extend Bush tax cuts...oh wait.

Wait is right. the health care bill was voted in the middle of the night, with a push of all demo's. And the tax cuts were yet another in political decisions that if he could have he would have raised them.

I can't believe you're seriously arguing that Obama hasn't compromised. Why do you think the main problem facing Obama for re-election is mobilization of his base?

Because liberals have been taken over by the uber far left, that wouldn't be happy with anything short of Chavez himself declaring himself leader of America.
