Nope, I keep up the maintenance. That truck will run easily for another 5 years just fine thanks...Hey if you want to spend money you don't have, and go into debt for it so that you can think of yourself better than everyone else...go for it...I think it's stupid, but hey to each his own.

You see his plan is to spend all of his money now, so that when he retires he can get on the wagon and collect welfare checks from hard workers like you and me for the rest of his life.

You make me laugh Karl... Its refreshing, it really is. I guess i should say thank you for restating our first couple of comments. You helped me prove just how expensive a solar system can be. Even with you wanting to buy the cheapest deep cycle battery you could find it still topped out at over 20k. And you still live in some world where it never gets cloudy... And we even discussed how little of the energy that hits the solar panel actually gets captured and converted into energy (thats the definition of ineffecient). Solar power is slowly getting better so i guess my comment about your system being obsolete in a few years was also correct! Not sure why you highlighted the part about spending 40 to 60k on a car and charger system cause thats what you would be spending... Did i miss anything?

You know that the car costs $31,500 after rebate, right? That's about the same price as a loaded Maxima.

Never had bad ball joints on the truck yet.... I know that's a common problem in the late 90's Dakota but not with mine.
I think if Thomas Jefferson were looking down, the author of the Bill of Rights, on whats being proposed here, hed agree with it. He would agree that the First Amendment cannot be absolute. - Chuck Schumer (D). Yet, Madison and Mason wrote the Bill of Rights, according to Sheila Jackson Lee, 400 years ago. Yup, it's a fact.

Inside jerk (joke), actually. The 2nd generation (1997-2004) Dodge Dakota/Durango had ball joint issues to the extent that there was a recall, an NHTSA investigation, and a class action suit. I previously owned a 1998 Dakota myself.

    Feel more informed now?

You mean after tax payer subsidy? Not to mention that we the people are paying around $250,000 per car to produce.

To artificially goose Government Motors’ Chevy Volt sales, the Obama administration is not just handing $7,500 to its wealthy buyers (buyer demographic: incomes over $200,000) — it is also ghost-buying Volts via stimulus funds for townships and corporate cronies like General Electric. Including the federal government’s own purchases of the plug-in electric, some estimates put 20 percent of the Volt’s first-year sales as Big Government purchases.

    So much for demand.

Now James Hohman at Michigan’s Mackinac Center has added up the numbers at the supply end and found the public subsidy for the Volt amounts to a $3 billion, putting the public subsidy per car at a whopping $250,000 per car.
