Sad no one stopped it before it ended in a tragic death.
Sad that everyone was so terrified - no doubt imagining Columbine and other tragedies while they waited without knowing
Sad that they didn't just shoot to disarm or maim - but to kill.
Sad that this type of situation is becoming more common place and the killing of armed children is actually occurring more frequent in our world.

We're there warning signs - notions - thoughts - threats? Anything before this happened?
That shooting to maim or disarm is strictly the stuff of movies. Once the police have to engage deadly force, they need to be prepared to kill.

Nope. The student is likely a 13-14 year old. Still not happy.

Furthermore, your point is ridiculous. Kids at that age have enough choice in their brains to make those decisions. Go ahead and criticize gun culture, and excuse the actions of a disturbed young man.

Yes. Unfortunately, the idea that a kid shouldn't have such easy access to a gun in the first place probably won't catch on in Texas either.

Too bad you don't know WTF you're talking about. Texas doesn't even rank in the top 10 as far as gun ownership goes. They actually fall in the middle of the road. Guess someone's ignorant preconceived notion has spurred some diarrhea of the fingers.

This wasn't an "8 year old". This was an 8th grader. 8th Graders are around 12 or 13.

THe NRA should give that kids Dad a medal for teaching his youngsters about guns at an early age.
...and RIF (Reading Is Fundamental) should give your teachers a kick in the balls.

This kid might be a product of the fatherless welfare class. But...we don't really know. Do we?

Good god you guys - who knows! Maybe he found it and thought it was cool, maybe he was being bullied and thought he was going to defend himself . . . we have no clue and I think it serve no purpose right now to assume we know anything.

Wouldn't ownership be the primary indicator of "gun happiness?" Regardless, still a stupid comment based on an ignorant preconceived notion of Texas.
