Kim Jong Il Dies

son or brother or grand son,but he has to be strong enough to keep up this regime..

Notice... not country (as if that could be up either).

Stunning. It's got to be a joke. I'm done with that.

His fat face 28 (?) year old son looks a lot like a young Mao Tse Tung.

Uhhh?

:doh
It makes a huge difference whether his son, brother, or grandson succeeds as leader. All three have completely different styles of thinking and behavior

yes I guess, and this is why I think the power of this regime depends on who will govern them..

Communism is the economic system. If you see their economic system, their centralized planning, direct manipulation of prices and currency, you'll see that they are communist.
Their political system, however, is nothing like the old Soviet Union or other previous communist dictatorships

Communism is more than an economic system. Its system with political, economic, and social dimensions based on classless democracy. This is the reason why North Korea and the Soviet Union claimed to be democratic, because ideologically democracy has been central to communism. In the same way that North Korea isn't democratic it isn't communist, even though it is still claiming to be the former.

Price controls and economic centralization also have their roots in emerging capitalist nations. Price controls were explicitly used during the revolutionary wars in France. Capitalist nations have had some forms of planning during their wars, and centralized planning is only considered central to communism to those who haven't studied the ideology. Having centralized planning in the hands of a military elite is about as communistic as the two puppet minority parties in North Korea are democratic.

Indeed, Kim Jong Il helped his country defend itself and maintain its sovereignty.

North Korea was not under threat of invasion. South Korea has focused on building itself into a peaceful and prosperous country and its transformation has been extraordinary. North Korea chose a path of self-isolation through "Juche" and military-centered society through "Songun". The costs of those approaches have been ruinous to North Korea's people. Had North Korea even embarked on a Chinese-style path of economic liberalization and global engagement, the country would be no less secure than it is today, its sovereignty would be intact, and its people would enjoy a far better standard of living.
