Yes, I do. I think that the fee is an idiotic idea. If it has to be paid for *now* (and again, it shouldn't be) then the Dems had the best idea, re: a surtax on income over a million dollars.

The mortgage fee is the Dems idea.

Mmm, I think it originated in the Republicans' bill and the Dems adopted it when decided to drop the millionaire surtax. It's in the House bill.

The spineless GOP House leader has shown his weakness again by changing his position on the bipartisan Senate payroll tax cut deal. After first saying "It was a good deal" he now says he opposes it. As Nancy put it ""By holding up this bipartisan compromise, tea party House Republicans are walking away once again, showing their extremism and clearly demonstrating that they never intended to give the middle class a tax cut," Pelosi said.

is it any wonder that the approval rating of Congress is in the single digits? Allowing a minority to determine policy is against our Constitution isn't it?
Boehner needs to grow a pair and get his House in order. We the people need to throw those Koch employees out of the House in 2012 or face more and more obstructionism.
are those who constantly whine about Koch actually soros-slurpers?

Obama is a turd, opposing him is good for America

best idea for those who are envious of the rich and think the rich have a duty to fund everyone's social security fund payments

social security should be paid for by those who stand to collect SS payments. It should not be another scheme to make the rich pay for your benefits

So by your own criteria that would be all Americans who have ever paid into it.

    I can agree to that.

the rich shouldn't have to fund any part of your share of the payments

if the rich pay more they should get a proportionately higher benefit

The poor pay proportionately much, much more than the rich.

Now you are moving the goal posts from your original statement.

Remember Turtle, Social Security is NOT an IRA. For you to confuse the two or pretend to confuse the two is intellectually dishonest. To do so ignores the SOCIAL aspect of the term SOCIAL SECURITY. But you already know that because this has been pointed out to you nearly every time this subject arises.
