Why can't Obama garner the support of the Senate Dems ??? He obviously can't garner enough votes there to get the year long bill he asked for ??

Obama said he wants a yearly bill, not a 2 month bill, so that is what the House gave him.

Why do you think it's a good thing to fight this same fight in only 2 months ??

Why do you think it's a good thing to add $17 to everyone's house payment to pay for this ??
The House passed a bill larded up with poison pills that they knew perfectly well Democrats would never accept. Democrats have said that they should pass a temporary extension to prevent the tax from going up while they work out a compromise. Boehner can't even herd his cats into approving that.

Unlike the House, the Senate has no interest in passing something just to say they passed it. They will pass a year-long extension when they have something that can reasonably be expected to pass the House.

Of course he can't because they know it's the wrong thing to do.

The Senate bill is also loaded with poison pills, i.e. the short time span and asking the already depressed housing market to pay for it.

No, they'd rather stonewall and be a "do nothing" Senate. Don't know why anyone would expect Reid to actually do his job and pass some bills.

He won't even pass a mandated budget for the past two plus years.

    LOL!!!

You didn't read what I said...you read what you wanted to see.

    So it goes.

Anyway, perhaps Obama should leave it up to his Congressional buddies to do the negotiating, eh? Except they don't like what he's demanding anymore than the Republicans do.

    Again...so it goes.

More nonsense. The Senate Republicans fillibustered the year long deal several times. They then worked out a bipartisan agreement that passsed by 89 votes and went home. The T's in the House don't want the tax cuts extended at all without poison pils the Dems won't accept. That's their Christmas "gift" to the American people, raising our taxes. Merry Christmas from the Teaparty

LOL, working with the president is a bad thing and now rasing taxes seems to be a bad thing. I think this is without a doubt my favorite thread.

Pssst......that's why we have two houses of Congress. Both have to agree.

The Senate Dems put their own poison pills in their bill, like the short duration that was against Obama's wishes. And paying for the bill by increasing everyone's house payments. Not a good way to boost the slumping housing market.

Who is working with the President and what happened to the pledge not to raise taxes? Is it only for the Koch Bros. ? Seems the T's are a bunch of liars.
