WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama has signed into law a spending bill that Congress approved to keep the government running, the White House said on Saturday.

Earlier on Saturday, the Senate had passed the $915 billion bill to fund most federal activities through next September and avert a government shutdown. It had cleared the House of Representatives on Friday.

This has been kind of under the radar, but now the government, which was scheduled for another shutdown, is funded through next September. This is what happens when Democrats and Republicans work together to........ Get the hell out of town for the holidays. LOL.

Is this the same spending bill that has the lightbulb ban repeal in it?

Why? Are you upset that you can't waste electricity and throw away your money? Or do you just lke the extra mercury in the air from coal burning generators? More mercury is released in generating the extra power a conventional bulb wastes than is contained in a CFL bulb which can be recycled.

All these bills get confusing but yeah, I believe it is.

Save your enviro-retardness for someone who care.

Thousands of people die early due to air pollution. Let's see if you're one of them.

Slight Overreaction I'd say.

We are talking about Lightbulbs here right?

You'd be shocked at just how much of our electrical use is from lighting, largely due to the fact that we're still using the same type of technology we used a century ago.

I reckon that's why the average life expectancy has risen.

Unlike a century ago a lot of our electricity comes from hydroelectric damns, wind, solar panels, natural gas,and nuclear power, not just coal powered plants.

I don't like that they peppered it with other ****.

But I think it's about ****ing time they actually did their jobs: which includes passing a budget.

You know how many times our pay from the military was ****ED because of this **** all year? I'd have to hurry home and phone ALL of our utility and other such companies to tell them we won't pay them - and that would cause a ripple . . it woudl take us about 2 months to square everything away because the military hiccups like a beast everytime there's a snafu.

I didn't like anyone in Congress before and I **** as hell don't like them now - ****wads. They should have cut all the questionable **** OUT and fiddled wit hthat LATER and left the importance stuff ALONE so others of us didn't have to suffer CONSTANTLY.
