The governor, in praising the State Department, was not praising them for rerouting the pipeline. That is not what the state department did. What the state department did was delay the pipeline till 2013. This is all fairly clear from the quote and link I provided.

You should really read your own links. If you did, you might not look so dishonest.

“Just a few days ago, I said that the U.S. Department of State decision to undertake an “in-depth assessment of potential alternative routes” was an opportunity for a common sense solution. Today, we stand here having reached a common sense solution.”
He praised the State Department for assessing alternative routes, not delaying the pipeline until after the elections so Obama's environmental wing wouldn't get pissed off at him.

The governor wanted a common sense solution, and the reroute achieved that goal. Now that the aquifer is protected, he and most Nebraskans are ready for the project to move forward.

What Republicans seem to be missing here is that the State Department has already said it will deny the pipeline permit if the GOP forces them to decide before they're ready. So what it comes down to, once again, is Republicans playing political games, which would result in the denial of the permit that they claim they want, just so they can thumb their noses at Obama -- as opposed to waiting a year and most likely seeing the permit approved.

    Nauseating.

If they do delay it, they'll have to come before Congress within 60 days and explain why. I suspect they'd need a very good reason.

    They have a good reason:

"Given the concentration of concerns regarding the environmental sensitivities of the current proposed route through the Sand Hills area of Nebraska, the Department has determined it needs to undertake an in-depth assessment of potential alternative routes in Nebraska," the State Department said in a statement."

"Based on previous pipeline permitting experience, the State Department said the review process "could be completed as early as the first quarter of 2013."

In a separate statement, President Obama said he supported the State Department's move.
"The final decision should be guided by an open, transparent process that is informed by the best available science and the voices of the American people," said Obama."

Nebraska agreed with the State Department, as Redress pointed out to you.

Ok, so let me get this straight.... You want the GOVERNMENT to buy up the entire electrical grid? Boy, I hope you've got some really deep pockets, and are willing to pay a lot more for your electricity than you do now.

Where in the hell do you get "wanting the government to buy up the entire electrical grid" from the comments of "we need to allocate resources to build a lot more electrical infrastructure"?

    Reading comprehension much?

    Try and keep up.

Most of the previous 10-15 posts discuss how Nebraska and TransCanada came to an agreement to reroute the pipeline through eastern Nebraska away from the Sand Hills area aquifer.

I bring up the reason Nebraska agreed with the delay until 2013, because after "10-15 posts", you keep missing that point that Redress made.

And you obviously didn't read any of the posts because the governor is quite clear that the only reason he was for delaying the project was to reroute it.

Try reading the posts sometimes and you wouldn't waste everyone's time.
