He was being sarcastic and using the deaths for furthering political ends, not as an example or any such nonsense.

So stop being a political hack and move on.
Forgive me if I don't take your pious stance on this issue serious after you just called me a political hack for pointing out, correctly, that these kinds of cases always spark political discussions and are used to make political points.

You pointed out something that had little to do with his post or mine, like my pointing out his blatant dancing on the grave was somehow wrong. Which adds up to be hack in my book.

LOL. I said it's normal to bring up gun politics in a thread where someone died after being shot with a gun which is a direct commentary on your criticism of a post that did just that. It's starting to become clear to me that you just insult people who call out the ridiculousness of your posts.

Again, someone died as the result of a gunshot wound. Misterman brought gun politics into it. You tried to turn his actions into a moral issue. Then you morally insulted another poster. That's ridiculous and hilarious.

The only thing ridicules here is your reply which had nothing to do with my reply to his posturing.

    End of story.

So you resort to taking people's posts out of context to make a point. And you insulted another poster for no reason. Your attempt to be on the moral high horse is really fading on this one.

Yes, and it did a good job of making my point.

Your initial post had nothing to do with my reply to him, nothing at all. All your posts since then have been your moral outrage because I called you a hack. As if that is some kind of moral issue, oh lord. Or equal in some way to his dancing on their graves, HUGE difference.

I am not trying to be on anything. You as usual are making assumptions and going WAY over the top.

Okay. Misterman made a post. You pointed out he made his post in a thread about someone's death. Why did you point that out?

It was the way he did it. He could have said something like...

I'm not anti-gun. I'm just disgusted with Virginia's lack of reasonable limits, not to mention its neglect of mental health care (relevant to the last Tech shooting).

And, of course, I'm mocking the standard rightwing response to shootings.

The whole "and the one being unarmed is even better." set the whole tone. Made it sound like he was happy so he would be able to then mock conservatives and our own batch of loony over the top posters. I thought it was sad to be honest. I can't stand it when people use someones death on either side for an excuse to mock the "other side." Honest debate and examples (like you said) are one thing, political hackery is another. At least it is for me.

It had nothing to do with morals on my part. I thought you were then defending him because you replied directly to me. Which is why I thought you were engaging in political hackery as well. Would not be the first time someone with the same political lean did this. So I assumed (possibly in error) you were doing just that.

It's not the skill to hit a target (your other posts suggest you know that), but the mental make up to do so. Like I said earlier, I know a lot of these professor types. Not sure I'd count on them for this.

AUSTAN GOOLSBEE: I think the world vests too much power, certainly in the president, probably in Washington in general for its influence on the economy, because most all of the economy has nothing to do with the government.
