It is just a reminder that despite the best of plans a person's life can change forever in an instant.

I suspect the reason people joke of this is the psychological nightmares she will go thru no matter how it goes are harsher than any of us can really deal with thinking about.

Ever worked on a flight deck, I have. Worst fear was seeing someone get turned to paste from a prop (we all figured if it happened to us we probably wouldn't' notice). The jokes aren't because we're mocking this lady, but as a way of dealing with a horrific incident.

And yes AS, I understand even train folks screw up.

As part of my duties, I was Safety Petty Officer for Ops Dept. They had us watch some really fun videos of what happens when things go bad. Video's that amazingly haven't made it to the web. All I can say is, DAMN how'd she survive??
Climate, changes. It takes a particularly uneducated population to buy into the idea that it's their fault climate is changing and further political solutions can fix it.

yeah - incredible that she survived. . . absolutely astonishing.

I'm not offended by the jokes, though - others might be - I'm just shocked as hell that it was able to happen to a civilian (you know: maintenance and stoop crews are expected as how it's a danger of their work environment)
A screaming comes across the sky.
It has happened before, but there is nothing to compare it to now.

The residents of College Station, in Texas, have been complaining that their airport is the smallest in the world. Aggies believe that the runways there are extremely short............

    And extremely wide.

For some, yes. For others, however, I suspect schadenfreude.

It makes me shiver to think about it. Talk about nightmare.

It reminds me of an episode of 1000 Ways To Die. Some guy was throwing limbs in a wood chipper and one of the pieces wouldn't go down so of course he climbs up on it and tries to jamb it down in there with his foot. You know the rest.

This incident truly is a disaster (“dis-assed her”).

We can be Godless and free. • “Social justice” through forced redistribution of wealth. • Silencing religious opinions counts as “diversity”. • Freedom without moral and personal responsibility. • Civilization can survive the intentional undermining of the family.
