I'll give you everything, even the money hidden in a box under the counter." The old guy instead comes up with a sawed off single shot 12 gauge firing at a range of 2 feet across the counter into the robber's gut.

While on the phone with 911, the old guy sees the robber crawling towards the door. "Hold on" the old guy says to the police operator. A few second later they record "KaBoom!" and then the old guy back on the phone. While giving the address to the police, the old guy sees the robber somehow still crawling now out the door. "Wait a minute" the old guy says... silence... "KaBoom!" straight down into the robber's back.

The robber somehow lived. Age 19. At trial, the robber did take the stand. His exactly words? "ALL I DID," he explained," was go in to get some money. And that crazy old man with that shotgun damn near killed me!"

The jury gave him 20 years.
Imagine if the gun jammed , you would most likely be shot by the mugger. It's hard to make a decision in this scenario. Give them what they want and likely be untouched however, likley have them get away with the crime (depending on the area) or shoot back, you risk getting shot yourself or your gun jamming and, well, getting shot.. Either way it would be a horrible situation to be in, it just baffles me how people can commit such horrific crimes to their fellow human beings.

It isn't hard to make that decision at all. Just blow the mother****er away. End of story, and the POS won't be robbing any more people.

Thank you Dan, I couldn't have said it better myself.

    1. Single shot 12 gauge. There's nothing to "jam", it is the simplest firearm in existence. Darn hard to miss with at close quarters too.
    2. Robber may shoot you anyway, no matter how much you cooperate. I lost a good friend that way.
    3. Killing an armed robber isn't horrific, it's a service to humanity and a boon to the community. Just a few weeks ago one of my neighbors shot a burglar in the leg. The only thing we told him was "aim higher next time."

Yes, it is hard to jam a single shot shot gun. Semi shotguns another story.

Just as one should consider any gun loaded one should also consider anyone pointing a gun at you is going to shoot you.

Just the nervousness and adrenalin can cause the perp to accidentally pull the trigger and kill an innocent victim. If you pull a gun on someone you must understand there is a good chance you could get blown away.

Well its a good thing that instead of just pulling it, he used it.

the best I heard was in Hawaii years ago where some young punks tried to mug a 70 something ESCRIMA master. when the cops showed up they reported that one of the thugs managed to fatally stab himself with his own knife and the other one managed to break both his own legs with the club he tried to hit the old man with
