Another rat jumping off the sinking ship.

He's the first since the mid-terms, I believe and no doubt he's not the last over the next several months.

There is a God!

na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, good bye!!!!!!

now he can devote more time to his pursuit of gay sex with underage boys

Few have done so much harm to this nation as Barney Frank.

Benedict Arnold, Tokyo Rose, the Rosenburgs, Jane Fonda.........he's somewhere in there.

I think in light of this that Frank should be scrutinized closer. IOW, why now is this particular rat jumping ship? He needs to be investigated.

It is because of the way they restructured his district. This news actually isn't all that surprising.

Interesting that after all he has achieved in the liberal scheme of things, and now all of the sudden he packs it in? Funny how after a book outlining how these rats scammed the system comes out, he gets out. He is a crook, and should be investigated, by an independent entity.

Good to hear. The more of these long termed corrupt politicians that get replaced the better.

You can bet it has something to do with his Campaign War Chest, that's for sure.

It's gonna be hard for him to use the old "I'd like to spend more time with my family" excuse. LOL

This guy is a lifer, so this is not because he wants to step down. He's running from the boogeyman.

It's Massachussetts, they'll replace him with another lefty.

Good luck, Barney. We will certainly miss him as a very smart man, an effective legislator, and one of the few Democrats in Washington was not afraid to pull his punches when calling the conservatives on their bullsh*t.

Frank is hardly broken up about it. He got to be a Congressman for a very long time, and his successor won't be Conservative, either.

MA is an educated (i. e. democratic) state so the typical "bomb the Arabs, bash the gays, regulate the womb, run up military deficits" right wing nut job won't win his seat.

corrected for accuracy ;)

Depends on what kind of "lefty." Cafe liberalism* is on its way out in MA. MA is now mostly independents who prefer classical (real) liberals.

* - a political bent involving taking stances on popular social issues (i. e. abortion, domestic partnerships) that are the opposite of those taken by most Conservative voters, with the intent of appealing to non-Conservatives, while simultaneously supporting the exact same pro-establishment military/foreign policies and taxpayer-funded subsidies as their GOP counterparts. Members of this "movement" are obama, clintons, etc.

Ah, yes, the party of education. LOL

I love how you guys gather at the coffee house every day to tell each other how smart you are, then go back to work for your Republican bosses.

Barney only engaged in consensual* sex. Butt-raping, etc. was primarily the domain of GOPers like mark foley.

* - rush limbaugh hasn't yet taught his GOP flock this term, so they don't know what it means.

I am not a cafe liberal (see definition above).

:lamo OMG, you didn't just try to tie classical liberalism to Clinton and Obama.
