OMG, you didn't just try to tie classical liberalism to Clinton and Obama.

I didn't. Apparently conservatives are unfamiliar with the use of the * symbol

The restructured his district to only include Brookline and Newton. The new towns in his district are to the west and are more conservative than his former. It was pretty obvious to a lot of us that knew about the areas that he either wouldn't run or he stood a good chance of losing.

So, he is a coward. Because there is a chance of losing, he gets out. See, I thought that libs like him believed that their ideas were better, and anyone that didn't believe as they did were just uneducated rubes. However, like most con men, when there is a chance that they will be defeated, they run like little girls.

That is politicians in general though, they retire to not lose. Although a House member from SC ran, even though it looked like he would lose to the Republican.

Hes 70. Hes got a lot of legislation passed he wanted to. Maybe he simply wants to retire in a good place (at least as far as he is concerned). Not too terribly surprising I suppose, but you could wish more politicians would never make to an age where how much power they have accrued over their long career is part of their retirement plans. How I wish term limits for legislature were part of the constitution.

The fact that he was so much smarter, and better spoken than his conservative detractors really pissed them off no end. Obviously.
