Nah, this is a bunch of spoiled brats that don't want to pay back their student loans, and think it is unfair that their Bolivian underwater basket weaving degree won't land them a job over 16K

The fact that you think your opinion on the validity of the protest holds any bearing towards how they should be treated is off-putting indeed.

Congratulations, you've been sold the Fox News version of these protests.

By the way, it took me an exhaustive six seconds to find Occupy Wallstreet's message on google.

Occupy Wall Street is a people-powered movement that began on September 17, 2011 in Liberty Square in Manhattan’s Financial District, and has spread to over 100 cities in the United States and actions in over 1,500 cities globally. #ows is fighting back against the corrosive power of major banks and multinational corporations over the democratic process, and the role of Wall Street in creating an economic collapse that has caused the greatest recession in generations. The movement is inspired by popular uprisings in Egypt and Tunisia, and aims to expose how the richest 1% of people are writing the rules of an unfair global economy that is foreclosing on our future.

Read that paragraph carefully and you'll find nothing about antisemitism, anarchy or the abolishing of this country.

So now that you know what their message is, Jmac, are you on board?

Which would suggest that even after the brutality of pepper spray, the protesters were still able to resist. Yes, their arms were no longer interlocked with their (forgive me) comrades, which made the job for the cops easier, but they were still able to be good little passive resisters.

What was wrong with the idea of getting up and walking away? Other than the fact that they would not have been arrested for doing so.

And let's get down to it: THAT is what they wanted.

If it hurt a little more than they'd expected, well...live and learn.

What this says is kind of misleading then. Because the people interviewed are all over the board, and if they are truly protesting "fighting back against the corrosive power of major banks and multinational corporations over the democratic process, and the role of Wall Street in creating an economic collapse that has caused the greatest recession in generations." Then they need to go protest the source of their ability to have done what they did, and that is in the Government, at the door of Frank, and Dodd that made possible the removal of regulations that prevented this for decades.

What's wrong with the ideal of honoring the rights and liberties of the individual?

    Not a damn thing.

Are you sure you posted that in the right thread?
