Yes, but the Courts have ruled. He is free to say "no tents or sleeping bags", but he has no proper authority by which to enforce that if the Courts say "yes tents and sleeping bags".
You know the time is right to take control, we gotta take offense against the status quo

I'm fairly liberal and a second amendment supporter. I think you'd be really surprised just how many "second amendment liberals" there actually are.

    I like mine better:

A New York court has ruled that a pre-dawn police raid on the Occupy Wall Street camp at Zuccotti Park was legal.

The ruling means protesters will remain barred from setting up tents and sleeping in the park, although New York officials say protest will be allowed.
    This one's not bad either...

Hours after New York officials raided Zuccotti Park, emptying it of the nationís first Occupy Wall Street protest camp, a New York judge ruled in favor of the city and said that protesters may not return to the area with their tents.

The ruling was handed down by State Supreme Court Justice Michael Stallman. The judge held that the city could indeed block protesters from returning to their full-time protest, which included tents and generators, and that the public should be able to use the site.

The park seems to be open again.
