'Waterboarding is torture,' says Obama

Thank you for that - most informative. I had not previously been aware of the distinction. I am glad to learn that Pres. Obama is against extreme rendetion and has taken steps to put an end to it. "Ordinary" rendition sounds like, simply, illegal extradition with an end of merely getting the person to justice in some other country, without subjecting the person to torture in the other country. Nice work if you can get it - I guess the rub is, that once you start to dabble in illegal activities, you have no guarantee as to how they will ultimately come out.

I am not in favor of rendition - extreme or "ordinary." However, I guess Obama is only slightly bad for his stance on this, as opposed to being totally bad.
