Walker recall effort to start at midnight

Madison - The recall effort against GOP Gov. Scott Walker and Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch will start at midnight, organizers said Monday.
In addition, recalls are to be launched against 3 more Republican Senators. Since 2 of them won in Blue districts, there is no doubt that the Senate is going to be flipped. As for the Governor going down, that is going to be a tall order, and I predict that it will not succeed. However, Walker's agenda will be toast, and he will effectively be stopped.

    On the chopping block?

    Governor Scott Walker
    Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch
    Senator Pam Galloway
    Senator Terry Moulton
    Senator Van Wanggaard

This is what Democracy looks like, folks, especially when someone lies during his campaign and, once in office, works as hard as he can to thwart the will of the people who elected him. What was promised as repairing a budget deficit was delivered as an attempt to bust the unions and destroy the educational system, while giving special tax breaks to the Koch Brothers, who bought him lock, stock, and barrel.

    Never again!!

    Article is here.

Hopefully Walker and the others beat the recall. We need more politicians in office to strip away union power.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

Not if that is what the people of Wisonsin want, and it seems they value unions there, hence the beatdown that is now happening there.

So if the people said enough of union power you would support what Walker is doing?

Really!!!! You want big bad powerful GOVERNMENT to interfere in an economic arrangement between workers and employers!!!!!?????? That seems a betrayal of both conservative and libertarian principles.

Here in Michigan we just successfully recalled last week Rep. Paul Scott who presided as Chairman over the House Education Committee and saw law after law attack teacher union rights. He is no longer a state rep and was the first successful recall here in 28 years.

The winds have indeed shifted and the sleeping giant has stirred and is awakened.

I might agree that Unions often wield their excessive power like a sledgehammer, but we needed them in years past due to the Republican/Corporate agenda. If nothing else, that must be stopped. I'm happy that people are beginning to realize that what's good for business is seldom good for them and you can substitute Republicans for business in this sentence. It takes truly egregious behaviour for the voters to see through the Corporate scams, but they are awakening. No thanks to the printed media. The Internet is a different matter and the truth resides therein, as well as buckets of bullcrap and nonsense that we are allowed to use our own censors on.

Dan is a big government Union guy, he'd never accept the people said "enough with union power". Unions, ARE power for him.
Climate, changes. It takes a particularly uneducated population to buy into the idea that it's their fault climate is changing and further political solutions can fix it.

    You're exactly right...

Amount spent on all state legislative races in 2010: $3.75 million. Amount spent on recall elections targeting eight state senators: $31 million.
The best democracy money can buy...if Republicans lose these recalls, 280,000 get their way and 5 million taxpayers get screwed.
