President Obama at Carrier Classic (UNC matches up with Michigan State)

hahaha I think he's the president of the united states, but I certainly didn't vote for him.
And because you didn't vote for him, that's why other Republican's who didn't vote for him are "alienated?" lol

lol no. It was just an opinion. Quit trying to make something out of nothing. :)

Think it was a simple typo. I know for a fact that Dash likes football.

All you would have to do is look to the left of the posts and see my avatar and headline, but some people's powers of observation are better than others. Ask V.

Studios film movies aboard carriers all the time, and people are complaining about this? Really? We used to have to actually go out of our way and change our schedules to accommodate movies. The Vinson was already here. Trust me, I've seen it several times just sitting there on the way to base with my husband in the last month or two.

In fact, the movie "Battleship" just finished filming at several Navy locations, including San Diego. Scenes from both "The Core" and "Stealth" were filmed aboard the Lincoln during my time aboard. (Jessica Biel complained about her berthing, which was an officer's stateroom, and the food while aboard. Very rude and inconsiderate considering her time aboard was about 2 weeks, compared to our 6 months, and the vast majority of the crew lives in 30+ man berthings.)

And when Pres. Bush came aboard our ship, it was more than a little inconvenience (although, admittedly it was pretty cool, especially when we were told to not let him touch any buttons, no matter what, if he toured our spaces).

This game is good publicity for the Navy and it likely didn't cost the military much at all. It may have inconvenienced some sailors, especially those with duty and the area base security (I can certainly vouch for this one). Overall though it was probably a good thing and could likely be made an annual event to occur on different carriers, depending on their availability and the willingness of someone else to pay for the majority of the cost. Plus, it is a pretty good morale booster.

I'm not a big basketball fan, but it's still a pretty cool idea. They should do this with a college football game next year!

The latter two were both horrible movies, by the way.

First of all, great idea. Secondly, the president being there alienates approx. half of the viewers. Thirdly, it depends. If the ship was already docked, probably nothing. Then count in any tickets sold for the game and if the schools paid for the court to be set up, it could have actually came out in the positive.

Yes, because half of you are partisan hacks. That's your problem, not his.

They're actually doing it with the Army/Navy game THIS year.

Not going to argue that. Not two of my favorite movies (although I liked The Core more than Stealth).

We own Stealth, but it is because my husband owned it when we married.

The ship has little to do with the movie content, we just provide a backdrop/realistic scenery.
