They don't think Obama is their president, because he's not Republican... oh never mind.

I'm not sure, I think there are plenty of folks who are willing to put politics aside to just watch a good matchup in a cool venue.

And for the record, I'm sure the NCAA and sponsors like QuickenLoans organized the event, but no tix were sold to the public.
Nobody who wins a war indulges in a bifurcated definition of victory. War is a political act; victory and defeat have meaning only in political terms. A country incapable of achieving its political objectives at an acceptable cost is losing the war, regardless of battlefield events.

Bifurcating victory (e.g. winning militarily, losing politically) is a useful salve for defeated armies. The "stab in the back" narrative helped take the sting out of failure for German generals after WWI and their American counterparts after Vietnam.

All the same, it's nonsense. To paraphrase Vince Lombardi, show me a political loser, and I'll show you a loser.

It depends on how much time was spent on him, IMO. That being said, I don't like basketball anyway.

You mean basketball? And eh, one could always skip the speech and simply go straight to the game action.

Think it was a simple typo. I know for a fact that Dash likes football.
