Ohio voters reject Republican-backed union limits

The private companies STEAL from ALL americans when they give their workers raises and raise the price of their goods...
You like many others leave out that many public workers are SKILLED workers and do jobs many if not most private sector workers cannot do.
You dont walk in the door and become a police officer or fireman just because you want too....You dont become a teacher off the street....The problem is that all of YOU want the private sector that has devalued the working class down to NOTHING on their whim...you want that applied to public workers....instead of running around whining public workers are overpaid how about making corporations pay what they USED to pay...

typical public sector drivel.

the richest one percent, the richest 5 percent pay more of the federal income tax burden now than at any point in the last 7 decades. Seems to me that group is paying enough

I do bleed for them. They really should aspire to be poorer. Then life wouldn't be so hard. If they want, have them call me and we can trade places.

If you consider voluntarily accepting the price of a product as being "stolen from", what then do you characterize taxation, where there is no voluntarily acceptance of the money taken? It must be something worse than theft, no? Not that your argument isn't absurd to begin with, I'm just curious how much "worse" you think it is.

Kind of like if I asked you if I could cut off your hand, and you could say no.
vs.
I cut your hand off without asking you.

Taxes logically have to carry a greater unethical characterization no?

How did this turn into yet another teacher-bashing thread?

are you willing to have done all the hard work, make all the sacrifices etc it takes to be rich? you all seem to think people are just handed wealth--which is probably why you are so cavalier about jacking up taxes on others

Hard work!?!?!? Sacrifices!???!? Perhaps for some. The deserving. But for others the real question is how can Boo go back in time and select his parents based on the wealth they have and will pass onto him?

So what is the problem in minds of the Ohio voters? They aren't paying enough taxes?

Or they could recognize that as unions are busted, so is pay for non-union workers.

It is clearly a fact that union participation has greatly declined over the last 40 years. At that same time, so has middle class income (relative to inflation).

You don't have to be in a union to benefit from union participation.

If the bag-boy at Kroger (a union shop) is making $10.50 / hour and Wal-Mart (non-union) is trying to pay $7.50 for the same job, who do you think is going to get more applications and get better workers? OR Wal-Mart has the choice of upping it's salary offer to compete.

And it works that way with public-sector unions as well. Decent wages for government workers make wages in comparable private sector positions have to compete. If you lower wages for government employees, then you're lowering wages everywhere around you.

Firing government employees won't create jobs. It raises unemployment; and paying them less won't create jobs either. It simply will lower the wages for everyone around. WHICH, by the way, is the goal of these bills and anyone who says otherwise is lying.

is he willing to do the hard work they did? envy has no place in a discussion like this

economic reality is going to bust unions. unions create artificially high wages for workers Global trade destroys that artificial wage scale

I work hard all the time. Most working people do. Make sacrifices as well. you're making leaps that logic and reality won't support. But like I said, one has to feel sorry for the rich. It's not their fault everyone is always picking on them. Poor things. They really should have a suppport group.

that sort of comment just oozes class envy. it also is indicative of someone who has failed to achieve and is upset with that fact

I am merely telling the truth I am sorry if that upsets the public sector union mindset

No envy. I'm perfectly happy with my life. But you whine so much that it is clear you believe there is a group of people picked on because they're rich. That it is hard being rich. I just don'tbuy the poor me act you'retrying to pass off.

Your posts are clueless. I like watching the ne'er do wells and the envious place all blame for their lack of success on the feet of the rich. As if its my fault that your education has not gained you the sort of compensation you think you deserve

Making fun of you whining is not whining. Try again. :coffeepap

Don't you whine all the time about how we don't have universal healthcare? Would pay for that? The rich.

Whiner.

Whine? Don't think so, but at least we do have a real healthcare issue here in the US. There is no real abused rich people here in the US. BTW, as we pay more for health care than nearly any nation in the world, who do think pays for it now?

Nearly? We pay more than any other nation, period. And we pay double what most industrialized countries pay per capita. It boggles my mind that some people defend our system.
