    Report: Sarkozy calls Netanyahu 'liar'

The conversation then drifted to Netanyahu, at which time Sarkozy declared: "I cannot stand him. He is a liar." According to the report, Obama replied: "You're fed up with him, but I have to deal with him every day!"
The remark was naturally meant to be said in confidence, but the two leaders' microphones were accidently left on, making the would-be private comment embarrassingly public.

The communication faux pas went unnoticed for several minutes, during which the conversation between the two heads of state – which quickly reverted to other matters – was all but open to members the press, who were still in possession of headsets provided by the Elysée for the sake of simultaneous translation during the G20 press conference.

"By the time the (media) services at the Elysée realize it, it was on for at least three minutes," one journalist told the website. Still, he said that reporters "did not have a chance to take advantage of this fluke."
The surprising lack of coverage may be explained by a report alleging that reporters present at the event were requested to sign an agreement to keep mum on the subject of the embarrassing comments.

Every time Obama insults Netanyahu, Bibi's poll ratings and Israel's support in Congress go up.

In 1967, seeking to avoid a war, the Israelis went to Charles de Gaulle, asking him to publicly offer support, hoping that doing so would cause encircling Arab armies to back down. de Gaulle refused and the Israeli ambassador reminded him that after the Suez crises, France had pledged to come to Israels' aid in just such a set of circumstances in order to provide her with the security she needed to give up conquered ground. "That was 1956", de Gaulle told him "this is 1967."

be interesting to see what this does to Obama's favorability ratings here with our jewish population - the ones they were oh-so-worried about after Wiener's seat was lost.

That fact that Bibi IS a liar is neither here nor there for some.

    BREAKING: Politician accused of lying.

Of course, lack of context make this a pointless bit of gossip. Is he a liar pertianing to ME security issues, or is he telling G20 leaders he tapped Carla before Sarko got his Gallic mits on her? Perhaps a more existential debate about better craftsmanship in the bedroom, Jews or Frenchmen, got out of hand.

To be fair, without hearing the full audio it's difficult to assume the tone especially considering that "The conversation apparently began with President Obama criticizing Sarkozy for not having warned him that France would be voting in favor of the Palestinian membership bid in UNESCO despite Washington's strong objection to the move."

To be fair, France and any other nation do not have to warn the US on any policy view what so ever...I mean does the US ever warn France or the rest of the world .. I doubt that very much.

And to be fair.. the US is in the wrong on this issue and always has been.

That's for a seperate thread and not this forum Pete, I'm just commenting on the OP.

It actually astounds me that someone would be surprised that World Leaders might talk **** about each other. Really? What planet do they live on? Clearly they've never heard of Wikileaks.... Will those that got their knickers in a knot over conversations being released via Wikileaks be as annoyed that this has been released or is this ok because it's Obama?

At the end of the day, what Obama may or may not think of Bibi personally is irrelevant. Obama maintains strong support for Israel.

I guess I expected at least semi-professional behavior from our president.

    Shame on me.

    C'mon November 2012......
