    Mo. residents upset by order to move lake homes

    CAMDENTON, Mo. (AP) -- Nearly every year, Patsy Riley has gotten unsolicited offers for her house on Missouri's Lake of the Ozarks with its spectacular views of tree-lined bluffs and its ample shoreline, but she never wanted to leave. Now, she and hundreds of her neighbors wonder what will become of their homes after a federal agency declared that many structures built close to the lake may have to go.

    The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, citing restrictions on private developments around dams, says thousands of residences, decks, patios and boathouses appear to encroach on land belonging to the hydroelectric project in violation of federal regulations.

    Ah, Kelo on steroids by Obama administration. Listen, the Power company says that these structures have no bearing on their operation, nor do they pose any safety risk. Yet, regulators press forward to take these peoples homes.

    Does anyone ever really own their home anymore?

    I think it may depend on which politicians palms they grease.

    If the houses violate zoning laws and regulations then they are illegal and have to be removed. Tough luck.

    I bet that's what Stalin said about the famine in the Ukraine.

    Stalin was concerned about house zoning laws?

    That should be the problem of the people that APPROVED the BUILDING of those houses, in the first place.

    Honestly, do you think people can just build a house...anywhere, without a government inspector checking it out first?

    No, he was concerend about his political agenda. I'm seeing a political agenda here; seems there's a treehugger some where in the government that doesn't like people living to close to the lake and now--after 30 years--they want to force these people out of their homes.

    I see another Republican campaign ad in the making.

    I would say he was just a paranoid mad man concerned about consolidating all power into this hands...

    I'm seeing a political agenda here;
    What political agenda?
    The political agenda of moving peoples homes because of pre-existing laws? How is that all a political agenda?

    I agree its bull****... But trying to pinn it on the "democrats or a political agenda" is kinda looney...
