Re: Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker recall process officially begins

Hope to heck that they don't get enough signatures. But they probably will. Since that may be the case I'll also hope that Walker beats the recall. I applaud the fact that Walker put an end to the collective bargaining by public employees. That never should have been allowed to begin with. Each of thier paychecks should reflect what thier states economy is like and how well they perform. It would be an incentive for every one of them to do thier best and actually care how thier whole state is doing instead of riding on the shoulders of either corrupt individuals (99.9% of politicians and ceo's and union leaders that really only care about lineing thier pocket) or of people that actually do try to make things better.

Just a side note here too...I might have been more inclined to actually listen to union members if a ton of those teachers hadn't lied and called in sick in order to protest and thereby hurting the childrens education. Children who those teachers have a responsibility towards.

Just a quick search came up with this...

JSOnline - Missing senators rely heavily on union campaign dollars

Frankly, I hope he gets recalled and I hope the Republican Party dies a swift death. Also, the influence unions have on policy is being greatly exaggerated, as always, by some people in this thread. When looking at influence, it's best to look at policy not money. The reason many unions are dialing back support of Democrats is because the Dems have not being pushing for policies that the unions want.

They didn't fail that badly. They took 2 seats, and there is one Republican in the Senate who is voting against Walker's latest moves. Walker's momentum has now been slowed, and he has lost his majority for the other items he wanted done. The new recall will involve GOP state Senators who could not be recalled this year because they had not been in office a year. 2 of them won in districts that are blue. They will not survive, and Walker's momentum will be stopped, although he will still be governor at the end of the day.

I am rational and reasonable, but like all people, I am also ignorant of some things.

Would you like to tell me what OC's comment means because it seems like nonsense to me?
