ACORN Officials Scramble, Firing Workers and Shredding Documents...

Since the ‘right leaning’ news sources are much more limited in the ‘news/opinion’ market I believe it would be difficult to find another source to validate it’s reporting. Why would a ‘left leaning’ produce report that would validate those whose agenda are opposite than yours, Right vs. Left. Isn’t this same scenario played out daily on this forum?

Yes it is.

But I spend a lot of time here trying to sort wheat from chaff so thet maybe a consgructive dialogue can be entered into.

"Divide and conquer " is being applied to this country.

OWS (as far as I can tell) has had as a major component an attempt to foster dialogue OUTSIDE the msm spin machinery about the serious issues facing this country.

You know what we've done here?

Fought about negative reports, almost all of which originate in the conservative mediasphere.

EVERY SINGLE NEGATIVE THING that has been reported to have happened has been posted here at least once.

Every single one has been accepted as fact by those on the right here. Even when clearly debunked.

I would really like BOTH sides to STOP LYING.

When someone points out the left lying I acknowledge it if it appears they actually were. I KNOW they do lie and misrepresent. I DO NOT approve nor condone.

I RARELY see the same honesty from those on the right. Or most on the left, to be honest.

But it is FAR more likely for someone on the left to acknowledge and accept that they are being lied to by THEIR OWN side.

VERY rare to see it on the right.

Its a partisan world we live in. I don't dig up lies on the left, and I don't expect the right to do so either. But I personally do not pretend my side would never blow smoke up my ass. In fact I'm certain they do so.

I'm really disappointed with a bunch of people I have come to respect here.

I honestly expected better.

There has been almost NO discussion of what OWS is actually doing here on this board. Not the problems they are concerned about nor the solutions they are coming up with.

What we get is what the conservative media SAYS they are about. The same blanket dismissals of any criticism of the current way we're going about things in tgis country. Marxist conspiracy theory. Hygeine concerns. Drumming.

Every negative accepted as gospel. Every amelioration of any of those negatives, even when factually proven, dismissed as dishonest denial.

Simply put its bull**** and it sucks.

Especially consideri g how many times I've defended the tea party from the same bull****.

Oh come on now....You want to rise above the 'spin' while spinning yourself that the political right '(paraphrased)lies more readily than the left does'....? Really?

This pap in itself is a micro chasm of of how the recent division of the country in political terms which has been more promoted over the last 20 years by both parties as a useful method of attaining supposed mandates,ramped up by Obama, and is in full display in your narrative itself.

Relativists think there is no such thing as absolute truth. It allows them the moral loophole of not telling the truth... like saying that someone who once worked for ACORN still works for ACORN, even if they do not.

Relativism is very convenient, especially when used in a generally moral society where the truth is the truth and a lie is not.

That would be great, except it basically is still Acorn. They have the same people, same goals, even the same office space. The only thing they changed was their name. It would be as if the republican party went away and was replaced with the XYZ party, but kept the same politicians, idealogy, etc. Calling them the republican party would not be a lie. The new group is was obviously rebranded but it is still, essentially, Acorn. To dismiss an entire story based on something so unimportant, is silly.

That is not what I said.

What I said is that too many on the right here utterly refuse to entertain the possibility the THEIR OWN SIDE is lying to them. And that those on the left are only MARGINALLY better aboit doing so.

I have seen more than enough "reports" debunked here to expect SOME on the right here to acknowledge that a smear campaign is being conducted. To cause a reasonable person to reserve judgement based upon demonstrated deliberate misinformation.

Not seein it. The opposite is what I'm seeing

2. Fox had not lied, blatantly, in the headline. The lies are so obvious, after reading the story, that they insult my intelligence. Apparently others are more tolerant... or something.

The person who submits the report is not the person who creates the headline. They are two different jobs. The headline is part of Layout and the people responsible for the 'look' of the paper.

If you don't like the headline, search out the person who does the layout and criticize their work. But i have a hunch that isn't what this is all about.

By the way, are you using my quote in an ironic sense? Do you feel you are well educated?

Yes, it is two different people writing the story and the headline, but they work for the same organization and they have the same editor. It says something about their standards.

No, the appearance and the content are two different departments. And if you are looking for shoddy work in the media there are plenty of examples much more egregious than the rather minor one mentioned here. It is much ado.

These things have to be pointed out as they are happening but blanket statements about Fox News rather than a specific item does not further any debate. Fox News is staffed by people with a variety of opinions but when many are accustomed to one points of view ranging from the far left to center left then hearing anything outside of those parameters may seem difficult to adjust to. It's quite likely that those on the right have varying opinions as but that doesn't mean that they are being lied to. It's quote possible to have different opinions arising from the same set of facts, though sometimes these facts may need a second look for their nuances,

Has it become impossible for the Left to feel any sense of embarrassment about itself anymore? Don't any of you ever cringe when you see the intellectually bereft among you chanting the same tiresome slogans, adopting the dress of 50 years ago and mouthing the philosophies of long dead and discredited economic philosophers?

Are there any Leftists out there who can put down their hymnbooks for a moment and actually address some of these issues?
