Fidel Castro calls NATO “brutal” for Libya role

HAVANA | Mon Oct 24, 2011 7:53am EDT

HAVANA (Reuters) - Former Cuban leader Fidel Castro denounced NATO on Monday for its role in the overthrow of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, saying the "brutal military alliance has become the most perfidious instrument of repression the history of humanity has known."
Castro, 85, also expressed indignation at the killing of Gaddafi last week and the subsequent treatment of his body, which he said was "kidnapped and exhibited like a trophy of war, a conduct that violates the most elemental principles of Muslim norms and other religious beliefs."
Gaddafi and the Castro brothers understood each other and found comfort in knowing that they're not alone when it comes to repressing their own people. Birds of a feather flock together. Unfortunately there isn’t a solution for Cuba that doesn’t involve violence to get rid of the brutal Castros’ military tyranny. At any time the spark that ignites the prairie will arises. Quite simply, they deserve a Gaddafi’s end.

"brutal military alliance has become the most perfidious instrument of repression the history of humanity has known"

seems that Castro believes the history of humanity started in 1945.....

1949, if I'm being nitpicky.

Looks that Fidel knows a lot about brutality. Talk about the pot calling the kettle back. He has no credibility calling NATO brutal. Every time he opens his mouth, he puts his foot in it. He has no memory of the thousand that has been executed, the hundred of thousand imprison, tortured, exiled, and millions of Cuban oppressed by the regime under his rule? Give me a break.

Seem that the Castro brothers are worried this could happen to them. What happened in Libya could also happen in Cuba. The Castros smell they could be the next death bodies exposed at Havana Plaza de la Revolucion. They can run but they can hide.

You're an idiot if you think the US wants a Middle Eastern style **** storm 90 miles away from Key West.

Fidel is just beginning to feel a bit mortal. His buddy Gaddafi is dead now and Chavez won't be to far behind.

Fidel knows his time will come soon too.

You are absolutely correct. I worked with a Cuban in the 1970s. His uncle paid off someone in the government to get him out of the country and to relatives in the U.S. when he was a child. He told me many times how brutal the Castro regime was and how he'd gladly cut Castro's throat if he ever got the chance.

Many thousands of cuban floridians would love to be wielding that knife....

Of course Castro is known for his humanitarian work...

That's a biased sample however. Ask any first gen immigrant what they think of the homeland, they're bound to be more critical than the actual residents on average. Having feelings as strong as wanting to kill the leadership is certainly unusual however.

Fixed it for you...........

The Castro brothers are defending another demon, which they helped consolidate in power in the 70s, supplying even bodyguards. Gaddafi was executed by his own people, people that he has being oppressing for 40 years, not NATO.

Fidel and Chavez next in line!? Buahahahaha :lamo
Good one

Too funny..,. of course they said that. If they hadn't, Chavez would've had them thrown in prison for the rest of their lives.

the only one believable is the one out of Chavez's reach, i.e. the one that said he was croaking.

Yea sense we all know that Chavez is the equivalent of Stalin or some authoritarian dictator right???

oops, one less dictator soon...........

President Hugo Chávez’s cancer is spreading faster than expected and his doctors fear that he may have only a few months left to live, a former U.S. government official said Wednesday, citing sources inside the Venezuelan government.

“The international team of doctors in charge of treating Hugo Chávez’s cancer does not expect him to live more than six months,” said Roger Noriega, former U.S. ambassador to the Organization of American States.

Probably more than one, since the Castro clan, Chavez, Assad are scare. They keep whining about the way Gaddafi was killed. Progressives had no problem with the lack of respect the Communist government of Angola showed for the corpse of Jonas Savimbi when he was killed in 2002. But they got upset that Saddam was hanged without dignity. Talk about double standards.
