Exactly. Of course boys want in your pants. But when adolescent boys can't get in your pants they relieve their pent up frustrations in other ways, sometimes by exploding things.

For instance, if you have a brother, you may have noticed that when you were kids, at some point he bought a glue together model of a '57 chevy or a B-52 bomber from the local hobby shop and spent hours holed up in his room meticulously glueing all the kazillion pieces together until it was perfect.

Then you never saw the model again.

That is because as soon as his masterpiece was finished he & his friends took it somewhere far away from adults and girls, stuck an M-80 in it and blew it up.

Not really. The bottle can't explode until you cap the bottle.

    It's basic 8th grade chemistry.

    2Al + 2NaOH + 6H2O -> 2Na+ + 2[Al(OH)4]- + 3H2

All you need is common houshold items generally found in your mom's kitchen. Draino from under the sink(NaOH), aluminium foil (Al) and water (H2O).

As you can see by the equation this chemical reaction produces a lot of hydrogen gas (H2)

When you put a cap on the bottle the hydrogen gas pressure builds up in the bottle until.... BOOM!

The thing is, there is still going to be some lye left over when the bottle bursts. Since sodium hydroxide is very caustic, if it gets in your eyes you are going to have a really bad day. Wear safety goggles. And no smoking.

My only complaint is that it was the wrong sort of chemical weapon to be tossing into that sort of crowd.

Is OWS really a left leaning protest (I know that is the speculation)? I went to Occupy Hartford and it was mostly Tea Partiers, however there were some of the OWS crowd (as depicted in the news reports). Both groups do not like what government involvement is doing to the economy.

PORTLAND — Occupy Maine protesters say Sunday morning's attack with a chemical explosive has left them with a mixture of anxiety and resolve.

"We are more motivated to keep doing what we're doing," said Stephanie Wilburn, of Portland, who was sitting near where the chemical mixture in a Gatorade bottle was tossed at 4 a.m. Sunday. "They have heard us and we're making a difference."

Wilburn said she was startled and briefly lost hearing in her left ear when the device exploded beneath a table about 10 feet away. Wilburn's hearing returned and police said no injuries were reported.

Portland police Sgt. Glen McGary said the bomb was thrown into the camp’s kitchen, a tarped area where food is cooked and served. Protest organizers said the explosion lifted a large table about a foot off the ground.

"There was no fire . . . We had a good 20 feet of thick smoke rolling out from under the table," Wilburn said. They could see the "G" on the 24-ounce bottle and its orange cap, as well as bits of silver metal, she said.

    Complete fail.
There's no proof that the conservatives are responsible for the attack. Suspicious? Yes. Evidence? No.
I also doubt that the police will be able to find out who the culprits are

    Anyone actually watch the video?

The 'kitchen' area is about 40 feet away from the street, is separated by the street by not only a 6 foot high fence but also a significant number of...what do they call those things...big...things with wood...oh yeah...TREES...trees covered in these little green leafy looking things...not saying it isnt possible, but Id like anyone to consider the logistics of how far you can throw a gatorade bottle from inside a moving car over a fence and through trees without anyone actually seeing you do it. Not saying it IS or ISNT what happened...maybe someone just walked by and dropped it...still...that girl they interviewed sure knew a lot about how to make a drano bomb...
