The ghost of Jack Kevorkian for President's Physician: 2016
You guys keep talking about being so against Americans coming under Sharia Law yet you completely ignore the fact that the Iraqi government does not want to grant amnesty to any U.S. servicemen. Why should the Command in Chief retain military personnel in a country that will not allow our military to bring its own people to trail or be extradited to their home country?
I swear...sometimes folks just don't think!!!
Most foreign countries will turn over U.S. servicemen who violate laws on foreign soil if they can be assured that the servicemember will receive a conviction similar to their laws. For example, while I was on active duty several years ago my ship had a port visit in Okinawa, Japan. A sailor onboard one of the ships in my task force was accused of raping a Japanesse girl. It took days of negotiations, but the Japanesse government eventually released the Sailor to U.S. custody under the condition that he receive the maximum punishment.
The sailor received 5 years at Ft. Levinworth and a Dishonorable discharge.
