It's social justice and wealth equality carried to its ultimate end. Doesn't feel so good when someone else is in their pockets, does it?

Thieves preying on Wall Street protesters - NYPOST.com

Occupy Wall Street protesters said yesterday that packs of brazen crooks within their ranks have been robbing their fellow demonstrators blind, making off with pricey cameras, phones and laptops -- and even a hefty bundle of donated cash and food.

“Stealing is our biggest problem at the moment,” said Nan Terrie, 18, a kitchen and legal-team volunteer from Fort Lauderdale.

“I had my Mac stolen -- that was like $5,500. Every night, something else is gone. Last night, our entire [kitchen] budget for the day was stolen, so the first thing I had to do was . . . get the message out to our supporters that we needed food!”

Clearly, theft is the same thing as a communal system that is supported by the consent of the people.

You mean the two wolves and the sheep that take a vote on what to eat for dinner?

Why are they crying about it? They want redistribution of wealth. The gal who lost her Mac? Why does she deserve to have a Mac? The guy who stole it had as much as right to it as she did. :rofl :rofl

What a great post!

They can shell out almost six grand for a lap top and they are protesting wealth inequality or some other nonsense like that? Six grand can get a 50-60 inch screen screen tv, a decent computer to play any game out there, a PS3,X-Box360, some prostitutes and a bunch of other **** and still have change left over.

You mean like the government and the owners do?

Yes it is. Me and ten of my friends decided that with our consent we should go down to your house and take some of your stuff it would still be theft.

What a great post!

I actually don't want them to take anything the wealthy already have.

Id just like to see mechanisms in place to prevent them from grabbing almost all of the new wealth in the first place.

Leave some fruit on the trees for someone else.

Really? What are some of the success stories in government interference in markets?

Child labor laws, environmental laws, labor laws, etc.

What do those have to do with wealth inequality?

You must be joking. This type of mentality is of the most dangerous to the nation; to believe the rule of law is arbitrarily applicable based on ones political beliefs.

If you truly believe that taxation is theft, reality will not treat you very kindly.

If taxation is not voluntary, then what is it?

What do those have to do with wealth inequality?

You didn't ask about wealth inequality. You asked for successful government intervention into the markets. Those were successful government interventions into the market.

Those thieves are members of the group known as "the people". And they simply saw someone with excess, or at least more than what they themselves had, and decided to redistribute.

Those are the only ones? What about those which sought to redistribute wealth, which is the point of the thread?

Re: Thieves teach OWS protestors about redistribution, the hard way

If taxation is not voluntary, then what is it?

An obligation of an income earning member of this society.

Re: Thieves teach OWS protestors about redistribution, the hard way

How dare they complain. If you have a Mac, you're obviously more well-off than some. It's only fair to share the wealth. They should be HONORED to give away their items.

Re: Thieves teach OWS protestors about redistribution, the hard way

48% of income earning members of this society pay no Federal income taxes.

This is what democracy looks like! *fist in the air*

I'm laughing at the irony of it. I don't believe taxation is theft. I do think many of the programs taxes are spent on amounts to nothing short of it. These people want their student loans forgiven. I should have to pay for their student loans? That's theft. These people want to stop foreclosures. I should have to pay for someone's decision to buy a house they can't afford? That's theft. Their whole platform reeks of socialism. They're a bunch of snot-nosed kids who've probably never paid a rent bill in their lives. Supported by parents who taught them very carefully that personal responsibility is obsolete.

Taking something that belongs to another without consent is theft.

There are those in this country who, if offered the choice, would choose NOT to volunteer money for taxes, via income, payroll, property, or sales tax. For those people, taxes are, in every since of the word, theft.

48% of income earning members of this society pay no Federal income taxes.

Through the legal process, we have determined what exactly constitutes taxable income.
