Man survives shark attack, with help from his friends - TODAY People - People: Tales of survival - TODAY.com
After a 9 foot 500lb bull shark bit into C.J. Wikershams leg during a day of fishing and other water activity his friend since kindergarten Connor Bystrom jumped into the water without thought for his own safety to save his buddy. After a makeshift triage using on hand materials and a high speed return to land Wikersham avoided a fatal bleedout and recieved 200 stitches.
My thoughts, good on the friend for doing a medal worthy job of putting someone else ahead of his own safety, the man is very lucky to be alive and 200 stitches plus scar is a small price to pay for being on the right side of the grave. I'll say this, Bull Sharks do what they do, but may be the most dangerous shark species to encounter on the water because of their more indiscriminate feeding nature. I wanted to post this as a good story to counterbalance all of the bad we seem to get right now.
