Democrats noted that they were going to vote to move it along but would not have voted to pass it.

But not enough for cloture - it failed last night. And the 95% of Democrats supporting it didn't sign on to co-sponsor. Hell, even the sponsor identified the bill wasn't sponsored by Reid. Just stop the spin please... it's not fooling anyone.

He would agree that the First Amendment cannot be absolute.” - Chuck Schumer (D). Yet, Madison and Mason wrote the Bill of Rights, according to Sheila Jackson Lee, 400 years ago. Yup, it's a fact.

Congress is dead in the water until the election. Nothing will get done in this highly charged partisan environment until this election acts a barometer on what people want.

BO also agreed to extend the Bush Tax Cuts but was blasted by the lib's for reaching a compromise. The lunatic liberal comrades that run the democrat party have given him his marching orders.....go full-on marxist or we will abandon you.

BTW - why are you talking about Boehner when the real debate is whether BO is in la-la land? AP laid out a reasonable case BO is in campaign mode and everything he says from here on out is suspect since we all know career politicians are pathological liars.....BO simply isn't real good at lying. Affirmative action advancement of uber narcissists will always end in a spectacular implosion. I hope we can survive BO's meltdown.
You don't know what the word Marxist means. Don't use it.

Deuce, you don't own the definition of Marxism as it means many different things to many different people.

You nor anyone else owns the correct view of what is or is not Marxism, socialism, communism or any 'ism for that matter. There is no such thing as a commonly accepted definition of any 'ism. Even if there were such a thing (which there is not), the tactic you used has one purpose, to avoid addressing the post by claiming the other person is ignorant in some way. Classic evasion. Why not address the post and just mentally remove the word "marxist" and carry on?

A word that means only what people want it to mean has no meaning at all.

AUSTAN GOOLSBEE: I think the world vests too much power, certainly in the president, probably in Washington in general for its influence on the economy, because most all of the economy has nothing to do with the government.

Why not? It worked for the health care bill and people STILL dont know what the hell it is supposed to do, how much it costs, and who will pay for it.

Is that right, Nostradamus? I guess we'll never know, as Republicans have officially put an end to majority rule in this country.
"The necessaries of life occasion the great expense of the poor. They find it difficult to get food, and the greater part of their little revenue is spent in getting it. The luxuries and vanities of life occasion the principal expense of the rich, and a magnificent house embellishes and sets off to the best advantage all the other luxuries and vanities which they possess. ... It is not very unreasonable that the rich should contribute to the public expense, not only in proportion to their revenue, but something more than in that proportion."

Actually, it is right. Guess you don't read much.

BTW, got a link to that "end of majority rule" ?

Obama without a fawning media in 2012 will be interesting to watch if it actually happens.
