What most folks also fail to understand is the affirmative action selection of BO to be President of the Harvard Law Review. He was chosen based on the color of his skin and the way he spoke instead of looking at the body of his scholarly work. They could have looked at his scholarly work if he had any, he didn't. ZERO papers, ZERO case reviews, ZERO work. Harvard had recently decided to change its selection process in order to elevate minorities into prominent positions to give the appearance the school was diverse.....so they picked BO. Now we are constantly told BO is smart based on his track record.........if you want to say a snake oil salesmen is smart since he can convince idiots to believe him, ok, BO's brilliant. He fooled tens of millions into voting for him based on his hope and change BS......how has that worked out for those tools?

Its abundantly clear that the obama slurpers will make all sorts of excuses for their shining turd
What you have made abundantly clear is that you completely and utterly reject the basic principle that colleges should admit the best qualified applicant over the lesser qualified applicant.

What results in that rejection is an embracing of self interest over principle.

Complete and utter nonsense, and you know it. Obama became president of the law review because he received the most votes. He got on the law review because he did well in an *anonymous* writing competition. He did in fact publish a case note, and he did graduate Magna, indicating that he was at the top of his class.

Talk about playing the race card ... and playing it badly!
"The necessaries of life occasion the great expense of the poor. They find it difficult to get food, and the greater part of their little revenue is spent in getting it. The luxuries and vanities of life occasion the principal expense of the rich, and a magnificent house embellishes and sets off to the best advantage all the other luxuries and vanities which they possess. ... It is not very unreasonable that the rich should contribute to the public expense, not only in proportion to their revenue, but something more than in that proportion."

this thread is not about Obama's education credentials.

Positive leadership helps form human behavior and that is the difference between the Reagan Leaderhip and lack of Obama leadership. Not sure what you think the solution is but it is obvious that Obama doesn't have a clue. I encourage you to actually look at the results of the Reagan years by listening to his speeches and looking at what he proposed. What is there to not like about his efforts where everyone benefited not just a few.

I was born in 81'. But that doesn't mean I can't go back and look at voting histories, and review their results, etc. And it's MUCH easier for earlier time periods, because there was a LOT less pork. Not saying the man did a bad job by whatever ruler you measure that by. I'm saying that what this country needs, in my opinion, instead of people bickering over which person to elect, the republican (even if it's Reagan reborn) or the democrat (even if it's JFK back from the dead), we need to eliminate this notion of a two party system. It does WAY more harm than good. It forces most all americans into a hobson's choice, which is no real choice at all. Get rid of the GOP and the DNC, remove a candidate's ability to use a symbol to easily sway the masses to his or her side. Imagine that. A world where people actually have to get to know their candidate, rather than looking to see if there is a D or an R by the name, thinking that THIS gives us some insight into this person's character, beliefs, and platform. Of COURSE I want more money in my pocket, who doesn't? But not at the expense of my future, or my kid's future. How would Reagan handle today's market, with conglomerate megacorps owning the lions share of all products bought, sold, and traded in this country? Would he be just the same as the rest of them? All towing party lines, but in the end, all bowing to the express desires of lobbyists, special interests, stuffing any and all bills full of pork by the barrel, etc. I don't know, and neither do you. And that's a problem.

Do you have a better economic principle and ideology than capitalism? If so, offer it or do you just want to whine and complain? The Occupy Wall Street crowd doesn't have a clue, let's see if you do?

Wow, he received the most votes in a private meeting of liberthat who were instructed to take race into consideration in the selection process.......that's compelling evidence I was wrong.

You having not gone to a top school such as Yale fail to understand that those schools are very expensive and ability to pay is a factor. Where in the rules does it say that a private school has to accept only the objectively best qualified students? NOW at a public school that should be the law but yet many public schools give blacks and other perceived to be unable to properly compete minorities breaks

one thing is true-being black or white or asian or Latino should play absolutely no role in a discussion of qualifications because race is neither a qualification or a detriment when it comes to being a student or MOST Jobs.

ability to pay, and keeping alums happy is a qualification whether you like it or not
and discrimination based on legacy DOES NOT VIOLATE federal law

Obama's grades at harvard where he finished in the top fifth of his class or so are beyond dispute. He was elected president of the law review because the dominant liberal vote was split between several candidates and Obama met with the conservative minority and promised them fair treatment if he was elected and they along with some liberals supported him giving him a plurality win. From what several conservatives have said, Obama lived up to his promises

My issue with Obama is the fact that 1000's of whites with far better scores than Obama were turned down by Harvard Law during the period Obama was selected because HLS gave black applicants huge breaks. The years I was college, the LSAT was on the 800 point scale (like the two parts of the SAT-verbal and math) and blacks were given about 130 points on the LSAT and .5 on the GPA meaning a black with a 3.3 and a 650 was more likely to be selected over a white from the same college who had a 3.7 and a 775 LSAT

The top 1% are sitting on-top of 2.2 trillion dollars, do they expand their businesses, no. Do they hire new employees, no. They just sit on it and say, "HAHA its great to be king, sucks to be a peasant." If you expect America to be okay with that, you are sadly mistaken.
