White House feeds off protest anger

Change a few words and it's the Tea Party. "This is all one big Republican-funded fake movement. Blaming spending and taxes....are these things that just happened yesterday?"
The Tea Party was funded by the Koch brothers (Americans For Prosperity) and advertised/promoted by Fox News...

Unbiased link?

The Tea Party itself claims that they started in 2009. After Bush left office. So yeah, they had a lot of problems with the Bush administration...so many that they waited for him to leave office before they really started up.

Wrong.

December 2007 was it's origination and it originated by Ron Paul and then it spread and changed.

See pbrauer doesn't HAVE to prove his wild accusations because he claims it's his OPINION based on... nothing. Which makes it irrelevant.

Its actually folks fussing at me for bringing up Tea Party backing.

The debate began due to the fact that its one of those things that unless the Kochs themselves go over to their houses personally with all thr canceled checks, they'll never accept it.

Major media, NYT, New Yorker, the Guardian etc.

But none of the "rights" media, so what're ya gonna do.

But all the rights media clqims in regards to the OWS movement are accepted as gospel, even though its WAY too soon to make claims of sponsorship.

Wouldn't surprise me if it IS "astroturf".

As some tried (and failed) to successfully astroturf the Tea Party.

Who I have repeatedly lauded for taking the money and publicity and running.

Furthering their OWN agenda instead of the one some of their sponsors intended.

Same with Obama and Goldman Sachs but we actually have the checks there.

You've not even posted the "wrong" media.

Promotion by Fox:

Did Fox decide to ride the wave? Sure. I suppose I can now argue that Walter Cronkite supported and funded the Vietnam war.

But no Koch funding proof... huh...
Koch Industries clearly funds American's for Prosperity, but they weasel by saying they didn't earmark the money for the Tea Party.

Koch Industries: We Don't Fund Tea Parties (Except For The Tea Parties We Fund) | TPMMuckraker

AFP's North Carolina branch has a Web site called www.nctaxdayteaparty.com that encourages supporters to "contact Americans for Prosperity-NC with questions about throwing a Tea Party in your town! We are here to help you have a great success!"

In an interview this morning, Cohlmia confirmed Koch's role backing AFP. Asking how that squares with the statement that Koch not provide funding "specifically to support the tea parties," Cohlmia said "the statement stands."

Of course the White House is feeding off this bull****. This is just like the French Revolution, where out of control mobs gave the government excuses to do stupid ****.

So we have something to look forward to as the right wing wealthy get the low haircut.

This is "Astroturf Synergy" in action.

This is "Astroturf Synergy" in action.
If it is 'astroturf' then people won't be camped out and protesting very long and new people won't be joining so you conservatives can just chill until it's over. If it is grassroots, then it will continue and grow - and you conservatives should be afraid because 2012 is not going to be a good year for your kind.

This is "Astroturf Synergy" in action.

Seeing how everyone showed up using their own funding and orchestrated a protest that turned into a national movement without getting tea party Koch funding and a 24 hour news constant promotion and endorsements from Fox and phony spin off tea party orgs run by old hat politicians like Dick Armey... kind of means it's not astroturf. Pretty much makes your post look like "envy" in action.

The OWS protest got jack **** for media coverage from pretty much anyone for a looooonnng time. Unlike the tea party that got promoted by fox nonstop before each gathering telling people where to go and when to be there and they will put you on the camera all while they got busted rallying the crowd and instructing them on how to act on camera. Then after that, any 3 teabaggers at a town hall got media coverage from all news agencies far more than any coverage the OWS movement has gotten yet.

What you do see is what Ghandi used to say;

First they ignore you,
Then they laugh at you,
Then they fight you,
Then you win.

Right now we are at the "they laugh at you" part and moving into "then they fight you" part.

Got it.

Damned if I didn't find it straight from the horses mouth.

Now, the cite is TPM.

HOWEVER, it is a report on an actual release from the director of Communications for Koch Industries. It quotes the actual release and followup statements.

It proves by simple admission that Koch money goes to Tea Party activities.

It also makes the link to Americans For Prosperity.

One of the Kochs is a cofounder of the original organization, and current chairman of the board.

AFP is a primary organizer of Tea Party events. There's LOTS of pictures iirc, of people holding "I Am AFP signs at Tea Party rallies, I remember it being an issue in the news.

The Kochs donate to AFP, not the Tea Party, and there is no proof that they directed the money to the Tea Party.

But Koch money went to the Tea Party through AFP.

Doesn't matter if they even "knew". (Nobody donates to organizations without some idea what thr money is being spent on. David Koch is chairman of the board of AFP. There is NO WAY he was unaware AFP money was going to Tea Party activities.)

The Kochs gave money to the tea party.

How much? There's lots of reports of numbers using declarative language, so I'm sure some of it is public record. How much they gave to AFP that is. Goes into a pool. AFP spends it on activities compliant with its charter. Like sponsoring Tea Party events.

No "specific" donations, just very substantial donations to AFP.

That's the best I'm willing to do.

Shut your mouth!

I swear I used that quote in a conversation with my wife this morning about the whole no coverage for DAYS, then they started mocking, and now today attacking. And I said at this rate we'll be done by Halloween!

Couldn't remember who it was by.

Awesome post!
