Steve Jobs Dead at 56

IMHO, in today's world, anything other than a cloud-based computer is outdated.

Jobs was a CEO he didn't invent the damned iPhone his company hired people that did and he got the credit.

Apple didn't invent the touch pad cell phone. Jobs just put an "i" in front of it, changed it's shape and then claimed to invent it.

So you buy mac now?

...I can trololol w ur logic all day :coffeepap

Whens the last time your computer crashed?

Linux usually doesn't crash, and I don't need the iFoil to make that happen :)

Suggesting Apple fans are passionate fans of hi-tech is a contradiction, because part of true hi-tech is open environments and interoperability, which Apple products sorely lack.

Apple fans are just naive users who are unaware of the whole market because of jobs' reality distortion field.

I like Apple. I am also a techie. Yet, I don't like jerking it to open "environments" or "sources" and so on.

I was always told not to speak ill of the dead...so I won't.

i like linux, wish it could play my ganes :-(

I think Steve's ghost is alive in the internet realm. (been watching ghost in a shell)

When Linux came out, it was more advanced than the MSDOS/Win95 and MacOSs of the time. In fact, MacOS at the time still lacked pre-emptive multitasking--a fundamental component of any modern OS--when Linux came out.

Furthermore, Commodore's AmigaOS came out in the late 80s, had pre-emptive multitasking, and was more advanced than MacOS or Windows at the time.

No Mac that ever came out was the most technologically superior desktop OS at the time it was released, period.

The fact that you thought it was is just more evidence of the power of jobs' reality distortion field.

In 1984 and for years afterwards, what was the biggest selling operating system for PCs? Correct, MS-DOS. Mac OS was superior to DOS. I realize you had to change the subject to another topic to avoid the truth. May Steve rest in peace. Enjoy your griping. I am now done with this thread. Snarf on! LOL!

Typical Apple user... Make some half cocked point that is based on nothing and then run away.... If Mac OS was superior to DOS, why did DOS outsell Mac OS significantly? Why did anything Mac continue to live in the shadows? What is it that you feel makes an OS "superior"?

Typical market fundamentalist position... why do superior media formats die compared to inferior competitors (think beta vs VHS)? It's not always a superior product but better marketing and strategy.

I gives a ****. The brutal truth is that I can't feel sad for those kids as they didn't affect my life at all. They're on another continent, life there is completely different.

As for jobs...

Jobs only affected your life because your a sucker for phancy advertising.

No, the market makes apple successful, and it doesnt suit you that apple is successful, so you have to do a mental backflip and declare everyone who owns a mac as stupid. Because you havent used a mac since gradeschool.

Except for Windows is not dying and nothing superior has been presented. You are correct about one thing though, Apple has not gained success through a superior product, they have simply had a better marketing strategy.
