As well as illicit/illegal products for that matter, since they wouldn't be getting any cash (from the state anyway). Are EBT cards cheaper than drug tests?

Can't be regulated in any event, I would say. But it seems to me that EBT cards would at least ensure that taxpayer money isn't being spent on drugs. Isn't that your main concern? What problem do they not solve?

I find it amazing anyone disagrees with this..

Drug tests are to catch people using, ILLEGAL drugs. You know, the kinds that are against the law to use, by using them you break the law. you can google it if you don't understand.

And this, now this may shock you, this will NOT affect people not using drugs. It is weird, but hey it's true. Furthermore, all this will do is SAVE you money. Because people will get caught, and denied benefits. What is not to like about this? Are you that are crying about it being a bad thing, on welfare and using drugs? Then i can see why you complain.

Plus it will create jobs. And create taxpayers. More drug tests=more companies having to do them. Failed test means no more benefits, and now it's time to get a job.

Hey, in that case perhaps EVERYONE should have to take a piss test on a regular basis! Lord knows your having to go downtown and piss in a cup with someone watching won't affect you, nor will the cost of those millions of useless tests have any affect, I'm sure.

btw, do y'all realize that this testing program is just to qualify? Once an applicant passes there is no more testing.

You seem to have missed the point.

Welfare recipients are less likely than the rest of us to be abusing illegal drugs.

and, who said they would be denied benefits? Is that the plan, really?

and, if they were denied benefits, who in their right mind would hire them? There isn't a huge labor market for welfare dependent drug addicts.

What we really need to do is start treating drug addiction as a medical problem, rather than a legal/moral one.

The trouble is a drug test doesn't test if someone is an addict. Just because they use an illegal substance doesn't mean their an addict by default.

Many people use marijuanna recreationally. Yet they are not anymore an addict than someone drinking a beer or smoking a cigarette. They just don't think it should be illegal right or wrong.

If I remember correctly the number one most abused drug is caffeine, yet it's not illegal.

I'd like to see them try to outlaw caffeine. Can you imagine the underground market?

My understanding is that pot is not addictive. Why is it illegal again?

Anything can be be addictive. I believe marijuanna is illegal based purely for political reasons. Some say it should be illegal because smoking is bad. However vaporizers can be used in place of smoking it and it's cleaner than smoking it. Is it bad for you? Not any worse than other recreational things like alcohol.

If it became legal I would prolly try it, however, since it isn't I won't jeopardize my livelihood for it. I believe in passive resistance for some things. This just isn't one for me, although I do t fault those that do.

Time for a "patriotic whiz-fest" in Washington, too?
Don't forget, Rick Scott formerly owned a company that provided urine tests until he transfered the company to his wife. Something stinks in Forida besides the trucks full of urine.

    Yes

Interesting. I didn't know that. Yes, there does seem to be a detectable odor of more than just urine.
