I don't believe that he actually is mad. Insane dictators need a long reign to start going mad. They don't go off at a bang.

I rather believe that he's trolling, maybe a symbol of "**** you" against the West and democracy. Anti-Western feelings are still strong in many parts of the world, so he's making a friendly gesture to the people in those areas and those in Iran
He's just trolling, not like Gaddaffi, who really was and is mad.

I'm glad all these assholes are members, because then we can jerk their chains through the UN from time to time. Look how upset they get when we go for passing a UN Security Council resolution condemning them or something. The UN is pretty worthless, but it's fun to watch them get all bugeyed when the UN tries to condemn them.

Another reason for <insert all the countries you believe to be a-hole states here> to be members at the UN: It was formed to negotiate disputes and lay out some ground-rules for behavior toward other countries to avoid military solutions whenever possible. If the a-hole states aren't members, then they are not part of this process - and we need them there to help prevent wars.

Was Rev. Phelps asked to address a joint session of congress? 'Cause if not, I'm thinking that the only "platform" involved is that pesky constitutional platform that guarantees freedom of speech, even for bigoted, homophobic assholes.

    Not really, no.

Dinner Jacket is the leader of Iran. Iran is a UN member. UN members are entitled to have people speak at UN meetings.

And certain rights are granted to the members of the UN, including the occasional speech at UN meetings.
