On that we will agree 100%. At the end of our days we will stand before our Makers and be judged on our thoughts, words, and deeds. I'm prepared to do so. I wonder how many others can truly say that.

Did you know that Bundy went to your state because it had a death penalty. He had a death wish.

My concern with both what Perry did and GA is doing is that it is all over the world media. This, along with past similar stories and things like Gitmo, has lead to the US government being thought of global in ways that most in the US feel about places like Libya under Gaddafi, Iraq under Saddam and Cuba.

The support of Israel's blatantly illegal gaffes (not saying all activities are wrong, but they've committed several stunning blunders), invasion of Iraqi under false pretenses, the history of slavery and relatively recent lifting of restrictions based on gender and race, etc. have caused the US to be viewed globally as not fit to be a leader in human rights, integrity or ethics. We have seen the effects of this global perception: Countries refused to approve the Iraqi invasion, the EU does not automatically assume the US is right in financial matters, the world is voting against the US position on Palestine, China openly criticizing US fiscal performance and many others.
I don't want to see religious bigotry in any form. It would disturb me if there was wedding between the religious fundamentalists and political right. The hard right has no interest in religion except to manipulate it. ~ Billy Graham in Parade magazine February 1, 1981.

Frolicking..... Why the H-E-Double Hockey Sticks do we give a Rat's rear end what anyone else thinks of us? Their citizenry is STILL flocking here in droves, and we don't see a huge number of Americans begging to get permanent residence and citizenship in Greece, Germany, China, Australia, the UK, etc.... If they don't like the way we do things they don't need to do business with us. It's that simple.

and i don't believe in the death penalty either.

Now i also believe that anyone has the right to blow someones brains out if they try to steal/rape/murder/harm them. Murderers and rapist have it coming to them either way if they are caught or not...

It brings move of a duty on the individual to protect oneself and others but then at least we would know our government doesn't condemn Innocent people to death.
1,000,000 new chances for rape and murder, all to protect your fragile fear of an "innocent" being put to death. And you think the DP is cruel... smh
Climate, changes. It takes a particularly uneducated population to buy into the idea that it's their fault climate is changing and further political solutions can fix it.

Not hard enough either Legally OR Illegally so far as I'm concerned.

There is no perfect system of justice; inevitably innocent people are put to death.

As for me, my heart bleeds for the victims and some SOBs richly deserve nothing less.
Being morally opposed to the death penalty does not mean nor require that you have sympathy for the criminal nor lack sympathy for the victim, any more than being morally opposed to torture means you have sympathy for terrorists. Your post is based on a false premise.

Did you know that every time a baby is born, there is a chance they could grow up to be a rapist or murderer? Me personally, I am not so cowardly as to live in fear of some imagined might be scenario.
