The Crown Vic has been built in Canada for many years.

How would that fit in with your buy American idea?

I am not knocking it, I am just curious.

Speaking of that, back in 1987 the LAPD was using Fords.

They had to get rid of them because they kept having to replace the shocks and they didn't have the budget for that, so they went back to the Chevy.

I don't know what cops will use now. There has to be enough room insdie to install the protections.

Her in Mexico they have used Nissan Sentras, Nissan Tsurus, which are the Sentra from 1991, and a few mid sized pick ups.

The VWs all fell apart and so did the Nissans.

No good answer for heavy use anymore.

I do not demand that American companies manufacture everything in the U.S. I am for freedom. Where I also differ with liberals is that I want to lower taxes and regulations in order to keep as many companies and their jobs in the U.S. as possible. In the case of the Ford versus the Camry, at least the profits come here. Again, I have not purchased a Crown Vic.

Unfortunately, not a lot made in the U.S. anymore. I would suggest legislation to change that.

That's fine. I would suggest legislation to try to change that too; however, I have never bought one.

You would suggest legislation preventing or limiting manufacture outside of the US, but you are for freedom?

    Sounds fairly statist to me

You know how you can triple the resale value of a used Hyundai?

Include a full tank of gasoline.

of course that opinion is based on old facts

hyundai is producing some of the best cars in the world now in terms of reliability, technology and within the last few years style. The new Sonata, Elantra are fantastically styled cars, the Genisis coupe and especially sedan are well styled and the sedan very well priced for the content.

Heck if we want to go to old sterotypes

Did you look at the Chevy HHR, which is what I drive?

The HHR is a size larger then the Mini

The Cobalt SS would be the closest competitor to the Mini in the GM lineup (past of course). Other options would have been the VW GTI, Mazda Mazdaspeed 3, Subaru Impreza WRX and a few others. Next year Ford is coming out with the Focus STi which should be good
