What exactly could they do? The situation was already out of control by 2007. Even so, the Executive branch maintains the power to veto anything that doesn't fit their agenda (cut taxes and cut regulations).

    Just a guess, of course.
When did the GOP take control of Congress? Let's see if I have this right, Democrats have controlled congress from 2007-2011, Obama took office with overwhelming numbers and had those numbers for two full years and yet it is the GOP's fault today? Thanks for the partisan bs.

It was? Based upon what? BEA.gov, BLS.gov disagree with you. Recession started in December 2009. Support your statement with facts, not your opinion

Okay, you really aren't being serious at this point.

Honestly, I can't take this post seriously at all and I can't believe you do also.

Again, your being silly if you believe the crash was preventable in 2007.

See, the thing is that the Democrats aren't actually against spending cuts. This is just the picture that the GOP has spent the last decade painting. They create that image by offering ridiculous spending cuts all aimed at exactly the programs Democrats are least willing to cut, because this way they know the Democrats will shoot it down.

The rough equivalent would be the Democrats offering up a 10% increase in top marginal tax rate and simultaneously a 30% cut in military spending and then pointing fingers at the Republicans for not going along with it. See? See? The GOP doesn't want to cut the deficit!!!!!

Democrats want to cut spending. We just also happen to think that the very poor shouldn't be the only people to sacrifice something to fix this problem. We also tend not to think of military spending as sacred.

How do you justify the results in 2011? When does this become the Obama economy?

It's already Obama's economy. But to attempt to place all responsibility for the crash and all debt and deficits incurred on Obama is the height of dishonesty.

Justify? What do you want me to justify exactly? What results are you referring to? What I know for a fact is that after action was taken, things got better. 2011 is slowing down as the stimulus is running out, which was pretty much expected from everyone.
