Does this mean that Obama isn't going to buy the oil from Petrobras, that they produce in the North Cuba Basin?

Until he gets elected then he'll open things up. He has nothing to lose. The embargo has done ****, maybe a little tourist commerce will speed up capitalismo and soon enough Cuba will be the corrupt cess pool it was in the 50's. But it was a "friendly to us" corrupt cess pool.

Probably not. What is he going to do with oil?

Who knows where the oil that goes into the jet fuel for AF1 and the gas for his limo comes from?

Cubans can now own such essentials like computers, microwave ovens, DVD players and cell phones. Think about how absurd it is. Can somebody tell me what ever happened to The Embargo? When was it suspended? Was it in the news? I must have missed it.
How did all those products get to the island? How did they get (and so quickly) all the electrical appliances, cell phones, and so many goodies that “The Embargo” was keeping from the poor and embargoed people of Cuba?

It's not The Embargo, stupid!. It's the Castros brothers dictatorship, stupid. They are, they have been “The Embargo”

And the pre Castro people had the most basic right of all. The right to leave.

Fidel Castro didn't clean up any "cess pool", he built on it, and murdered hundreds of thousands of people while destroying innumerable other lives in the process. To believe otherwise is willful ignorance.

Don't you all get it yet? Obama isn't a leader, he is a partisan politician. His actions are based on what's best for his party, for his re-election and for the liberal/progressive agenda, not on what's best for America.

Rather than deal with the Cuba issue, he punted it until after the 2012 election. He did the same thing with the tax increases attached to Obamacare, with various EPA regulations and more recently with the Canadian oil pipeline. That's not leadership.
