Probe surrounding Wis. governor apparently growing

I'm a liberal and I think I've shown I'm very willing to give Walker the benefit of the doubt here. However, I think it fair to point out the obvious:

Two of Walker's former employees once worked with him at lower levels of government within his state.

Both employees suddenly resigned from high paying jobs.

At least one employee worked in a position where she had significant oversight of state contracts.

Both employees are accused of wrong-doing in state campaign matters concerning Gov. Walker.

On the surface, it smells of corruption. But sending emails in and of itself isn't a crime. However, just as with the Obama Administration, it is what's contained in those emails that may help to tell the story.

So then it would be appropriate to point out discrepancies by Van Jones, Rahm Emanuel, and others who have left the Obama Administration? Is this corruption?

General Reported He Was Pressured On Testimony About White House-Backed Project, Sources Say | Fox News

How about Solyndra and other "green" businesses that got taxpayer money in rushed photo op opportunities? As asked, would this even be an issue if Liberals had not already convicted Walker? Investigate fine, convict? too early

Why is this even a topic if liberals haven't already convicted Walker?

It's a topic because it's newsworthy!

Look, Gov. Walker was the first Republican governor to attack public employees. So, of course anything he or any high ranking members of his Administration does that's questionable will come under scrutiny especially when those administrative officials/personnel were people who followed him from one level of government to the next. It's the same as saying these two employees reflect on Walker the same as Valerie Jarett would reflect on Obama, for example, if she were to get caught-up in some scandal because she being a close friend of the Obama's followed him to the White House.

I don't see anything inappropriate about bringing Walker into question here. He does have close ties to those currently under FBI investigation. As such, it is reasonable to question their activities in relation to their positions with the governor. Same as one would do the same concerning the President where close personal relationship such as those outlined here are concerned.

It's a matter of quid pro quo..."what have you done for me lately and what can I do for you?"

Okay ... .... like the Denzel Washington request in PHILADELPHIA to explain it to him like he is a four year old

1 - This is a news story
2 - this thread is about breaking news stories
3 - this is NOT a story about anybody being convicted of anything
4 - this is a story about an ongoing investigation
5 - you are the only one battling your own self created frankenstein monster of a convicted Walker

If it wasn't about something that couldn't hurt Walker would it still be a news story?

That is the point, it wouldn't be a news story if it didn't involve Walker but liberals see an opportunity to convict Walker through guilt by association and that is the point. No such issue with Obama and his "friends?"

here is your statement which led to my SO WHAT?

Again - so what? Are you really trying to tell us that people of a certain political persuasion are barred and disqualified from any participation in the actual process simply because you worship before another ideological altar? Are you really trying to tell us that anyone who has these nameless, vague and unidentified "ties to public sector unions" has relinquished all their rights as citizens in that state? Because unless you are taking both of those positions, it is irrelevant and means nothing as to the actual events of this story.

SO WHAT is indeed the perfect response to your statement.

I disagree. Today we see companies that seem to donate to repubs, repub politicians that do things unpopular with unions, and even news outlets that don't suck up to the administration shut out. While, thugs that loiter outside polling places with clubs, and intimidate voters, and are convicted of such, cases just dropped. This whole administration stinks of corruption.

what is wrong with you? aren't YOU the poster who screams "no fair" when someone brings up bush?

This was probably just poor reporting, but Archer, the most recently targeted, didn't resign. She is on medical leave. once her heath issues are over (whatever they are) she is going back to work in a different position.

Former Walker aide shaken, embarrassed following FBI raid, denies any wrongdoing

the other guy that stepped down, had said that he intended to leave the job in September all along, and almost didn't take the job in the first place for that reason. I obviously have no idea if he was speaking the truth. but it's more then anyone else has.

Thanks for the journalist corrections. Still, I wonder why Archer isn't returning to her previously held position? Furthermore, some would think the timing is alittle odd for the other person who stands accused of wrong-doing to suddenly claim "Oh, I was leaving the job soon anyway". Some would say that's too convenient.

To both I say, "Hmmmm....interesting..."

Careful the black helicopters might get you, better hurry up and put your tinfoil hat on.

LOL, yep, news worthy in a debate forum but only to discredit an anti union GOP Governor who is guilty by association?

Yes some people are doing guilt by association, just as you and some others on the right do that with Obama. He'll even J-Mac is entertaining the idea that this is a grand conspiracy against Walker by the evil unions. Gimmee a break.

Others in this thread though (myself and even people on the left) are saying we should wait to see how this unfolds before jumping to conclusions.

Look, if the people involved weren't close associates of Walkers and this wasn't an issue of questionable campaign matters, I doubt there'd be such a frinzy over it. But the fact that these people were close associates of the governor's AND campaign matters are front-and-center of the investigation makes this a rather interesting storyline. I don't think anyone - Democrat or Republican - could have ignored this story because it is what it is - newsworthy. If anything, I'd question why the media didn't report it because then it would appear to have been a cover-up.

Stop with the partisan hack lines and just let the investigation play itself out. One way or another, the truth will be revealed. And if it turns out there's nothing to connect Gov. Walker to wrong-doing, you and Walker's supporters can all breathe a sign of relieve. But if it turns out there's alot more to this story, I'd say Liberals would have been vindicated. Until then, just chill.

Partisan hack lines? If nothing is proven do you think liberals will come back and apologize for their charges and attempts at connection to Walker?

If it wasn't about something that couldn't hurt Walker would it still be a news story?

That is an irrelevant question. If potato chips were not salty would they still taste good? If there were not crashes during NASCAR events would people still attend? If sex did not feel good would people still do it? Lets get back to reality please.

Can you explain how one can be convicted of voter intimidation while the case is dropped?

Again, NO ONE HAS BEEN CHARGED WITH A CRIME HERE!

Second, it's only fair to investigate these two (former) employees in state government who have had such close ties to the state's governor if there are questions concerning his campaign and they were part of it.

Third, if by their association to Gov. Walker he conspired with them to conduct themselves in unethical ways, shouldn't that be investigated? I mean, how many politicans have lost their jobs because of their inappropriate behavior? Why should Gov. Walker be above the frey here?

If he did nothing wrong that will be rooted out. But if it's determined he had something to hide I think it's fair to allow an investigation to inform the public of his involvement, same for President Obama and this CA solar panel company.

Let the truth come out and the chips fall where they may.

Really? Have you followed the creater of this thread's posts?

So what? Who cares what you think about the politics of somebody who posted a news story? Its irrelevant to the events of the story.
