Probe surrounding Wis. governor apparently growing

Sure it is, loitering. You can't just lurk wherever you want.

And as you will recall, the police came and the guy with the baton went home. Just as any other such event would have been handled.

I'm sure you would like to spin a huge win for the Democrats as a loss, but it can't be done. Recalling one state senator is a feat in itself, but two! With an effort like that, the Democrats have a good chance of recalling the corrupt Scott Walker next year.

The Democrats took 2 state senators from the Republicans despite the huge influx of cash from the Koch brothers and Karl Rove's American Crossroads.

If only their stated goal wasn't to, you know, take the senate back - and with all of WI supposedly hating Walker and Act 10 that should have been easy - then you might have a point.

As it is, all you have is justifications. Unions spent gobs of money on Kloppenburg and she kind of sort of came close to beating Prosser, which is supposed to prove that WI hates Act10 and sees Walker as a dictator. Then unions spent even bigger sums of money and promised that the WI senate would flip, but they only took two seats -one by only 1500 votes despite an affair, not living in district and allegations of cronyism -. Obviously WI is on your side - or so the justificaitons of the ridiculous go...

I don't thinkn those are comparable, but no, standing around isn't against the law. No matter what we think about the KKK, it would not have gone to court.

You don't think white people standing outside a polling place with nooses in their hands would have gone to court under voter intimidation?

If all they did was stand, no, I don't think it would have gone to court. You rarely go to court for standing.

This is pure Allinsky. It should be dismissed with an apology instead angry libs will go after, and try and destroy anyone that bucks their ideology.

I see. If Anthony Wiener abuses his public office, destroy him. If Governor Walker abuses his public office, protect him and call it a witch hunt. After all, he is a Republican.

Yes, unions spent gobs of money on Kloppenburg. The Koch Brothers spent even more on Prosser. why is one acceptable and the other not? The way I see it, if the Koch Brothers have the right to spend money, then so do the unions. If the unions don't have that right, then neither do the Koch Brothers. You can't have it both ways.

Please provide proof that Walker has abused his public office, where is the indictment? This is all about the anti public union stance of Walker and a vindictive liberal group of thugs, pure and simple.

:spin:

Sure they had a goal to take back the senate, they set their goals high, but I don't see where they promised to take it back. This a democracy, you can't promise elections. And a win is a win no matter how close it is. Being close counts in horseshoes.

Recalling two state senators in the same election is unprecedented.

Just think how much was spent on this election to get two Senators recalled? Great use of money, wasn't it? So much for the benefits to the union. Just send the damn money to the unions instead of putting the state through this bs. That is what pisses people off about public unions. All wage and benefits should be negotiated by ballot initiatives, not by the votes of Representatives as people today are paying for the deals made by previous Representatives no longer in office. Public union employees work for the public and it is the public that should make the decision on their pay and benefits since they pay the taxes that fund those benefits.

I have no problem if either side does it. But, to sit there and claim that the results in either election proves that WI hates Act 10 and Walker... Only a hyper-partisan goof...

The unions lost in both cases. PBauer is just trying to justify his hatred by pretending that majorities in WI agree with him.

BTW, why not prove your claim, since I really don't beleive it, that the Koch brothers spent more then the unions.

Then you can certainly understand that unions lost the Kloppenburg race, which had become a referendum on Act 10 and Walker and lost in their attempt to flip the senate. Taking two senate seats was not their goal. To you, this was a great way to spend public money in WI and private money of both political parties. Let's hope all future democratic efforts are just as sucessful. Think how happy you will be. Republicans will be just as happy - looks like a win-win to me.

What I understand is that when Walker took office, he had two, count them 2, more Republican senators than he has today despite the fact that the Koch Bros - Americans For Prosperity - and Karl Rove's - American Crossroads - spent millions on the campaign to win.

And despite the unions spending multiple millions of dollars, we are basically right back where we started. Conservatives are still the majority on the WI supreme course, the WI state senate and the WI state house. Act10 is still the law in WI. The state is saving butt loads of money, balanced a budget and didn't have to raise any taxes. Many of the public unions in WI have even decided not to seek recertification. Republicans in WI are going to be in a much better position due to redrawing the districts and the senator (Randy Hopper) that was involved in personal issues and still only lost by 1500 votes will easily be regained next year. Again, I hope democrats are always so sucessful. It seems to be best for both the state and federal levels when they are.

The Democrats won 4 out of 6 races. And we'll see what happens to Gov. Walker after he's been office for one full year.
BTW, the Republicans wasted state money by putting up fake Democrats so there would be a primary election. Conservatives don't mind spending the people's money as long as it serves their purpose. The end justifes the means with conservatives.

There has been some second thoughts, at least according to what i've heard on WI radio. Democrats are trying to determine the viability of recalling Walker. It's a very expensive task (time and money), and they aren't sure they'll have the enthusiasm (because of their "great victory") or the money to undertake it. I can't tell you either way, just providing what has been stated by those in the know.

Democrats caused the state to spend far more then the republicans did. Security, overtime and clean up due to the protests, costs associated with a recount democrats couldn't hope to win (Kloppenburg) and unecessary recall elections because they decided they didn't like the results of the last election. May as well add on the costs required by the union for providing overpriced health insurance through WEAC. Do you really want to compare the costs foisted upon the WI public by the democrats to those of the republicans?

There were 9 recall elections, before the election the Republicans held a 19-14 majority, after the recall it was 17-16 so where do you get the 4 out of 6 recall elections won by Democrats.

Because the dems won 2 recall races to keep their seats.

One was because the republican that had the best chance to win, was an idiot and didn't submit enough signatures. The guy that did submit enough signatures, had some kind of police record. The other I actually thought republicans had a chance to win.

"The Journal Sentinel reported that people familiar with the county investigation who spoke on condition of anonymity said the investigation focuses on the activities of Archer and Tom Nardelli, Walker's former county chief of staff. Both worked three years in Walker's county executive office then followed him to Madison after the November election.

Nardelli quit his state job in July and did not return messages seeking comment Friday. Archer served as deputy Department of Administration Secretary until she quit Aug. 19 and started the Children and Family Services job on Aug. 20 before going on paid medical leave.

I hear you however how is that winning 4 out of 6 races when there were 8 races. They won the two Democrat seats on the 16th and won 2 of the 6 Republican seats on the 9th which means they won 4 out of 8, not four out of 6. What am I missing

Actually, using Bauer's measurenments, it looks like Dems won 5 and Reps won 4. So, dems won 5 of 9. Regardless, rep maintained control of all branches of government and WI is all the better for it.

In a white neighborhood...No. Definitely not

This is either a naive answer or an outright lie. I will let folks make up their own mind.
